I'm seeing mixed results for the Ex div date. Is it the 1st or the 4th?

What a great time for dividend investors, love when this bank goes on sale👌
B
....are people actually worried because it dropped in price.
do you not understand the trend of Canadian banks....dividend growth...drip...
people really need to educate themselves
when CDN banks are down, you buy.
anybody thinking short term gains on these stocks needs to find a new hobby.

Seems the dread of an upcoming recession is hurting all banks. Great dividend though and I see no reason to dump this.

All the CAD banks survived the 2008 and 2020 pandemic crashes/crisis and did just fine. At worse the CAD Government will halt all dividend raises again. But these are fine and safe to hold. I'm buying 10 every -$10 starting here (i was waiting for this to get back to the 5% yield :D

Congrats to those that passed on the dividend. You will be able to buy back in much lower. Ex-dividend dates have been disasters for stocks over the last year. I have sold pre-ex-divdend and have bought back the same stock for a few bucks lower at times. Today is no exception. When the experts say buy dividend stocks, they never tell you when. The trend I have noticed is to buy divi stocks after a ex-dividend date if you really like the company.

5.2 dividend, enjoy!

Surprised this is down right now with the ex-divvy date coming on Friday. I got in and out of CM and collected the dividend - a bit on the lucky side as I sold early on 6/28 before it fell later in the day. Planned on doing the same here but we'll see - short interest is higher here and I'm a bit under my $59.64 basis. Have so much cash on the sidelines - 85% - I'm just minding time trying to pick up some quick dividends while waiting for the next and hopefully final leg down. One way or the other though - I'm not worried about getting stuck with BNS as I think this is a pretty solid entry point for any long-term holder with most targets $70 or above. Nothing too shabby about getting a 5.4% dividend either.

Not an exciting cyclical play, but the same Canadian banks have been, and will continue to be cash generating machines far into the future.

It's fallen right through layers of support. Next support is $72.42
