Emerging Markets Fixed-income investment in emerging markets has traditionally been dominated by sovereign Eurobonds. The Institute for International Finance, a redoubtable Washington think tank, appeared to throw cold water on that rally earlier this month with a report flagging the “spectacular rise” in private-sector emerging market debt. The developing world shows the opposite picture: Corporate debt has climbed from 68% to 100% of gross domestic product over the past decade, the IIF found.
