The Q2 highlight report looks pretty solid... the .32 reg + 0.05 special is the normal amount for the Qtr at 0.37/share.. However, with the NAV increasing from $14.18 to $14.80 in the worst of quarters, this should be a stock that trades at $12.50-$13.00 conservatively... It has to rise following the news and considering they have a very small percentage of loans (~5%) which are at risk... This report is above expectations for a stock that trades this low... I say 50% upside in 3-6 months
    Bullish

Conference call this morning was fine.... declared the usual .37/divi, slight drop in NAV to 17.06/share due to unrealized losses, continuing to buy back shares with excess cash.... earnings are comfortably exceeding the divi payouts... 70% first lien... They are in a good place even if credit markets are competitive

glad to see the share issuance proposal was shot down. go raise debt, it's cheap. why issue stock and tax the company w/ high dividend payments? plus, one month they're buying back stock and the next, they're wanting to issue stock. get some leadership with vision then come talk to me.

AWESOME NEWS FELLOW SHAREHOLDERS !!! Company will issue 1.218MM shares for raising $25MM on January 10th! That means that the price/share at which shares will be issued will be $20.52!!! Apparently they have subscription agreement with certain investors which requires them to buy shares at this price! So great for us shareholdes given that current shares are trading at only $14.11, and they will issue shares at a huge premium of 50% to this price! Guess what they will do with the proceeds? Of course they will use them to buy back shares on the cheap! This is a double banger good news :)------

Someone out there please let me know why this stock tanks with good numbers. plenty of NII for Dividends, non accruals under control. I just dont get it. need help understanding. I know lower rates affect LIBOR adjusted loans which will affect NII but according to them, not by a lot. maybe .03 cents? there are several companies out there with income less than paid dividends and they arent falling. the company has not given indication of cutting the dividend now yielding 11 % WOW !
    Any ideas out there?

I'm interested in CGBD because of its current $1.48 (11%) dividend. But I see that its earnings are only $0.55, or about one-third of the dividend amount--and it's been that way for a long time. How is this situation sustainable? Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

On May 4, 2020, the Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.37, which is payable on July 17, 2020 to stockholders of record on June 30, 2020.

Lot of talk about them having a considerable amount of extra money for year end. Big dividend coming. Getting an extra payout in 4th quarter will bump this stock up. Nice when a plan comes together. Hard to believe people question this management group. Take a look at some of the names in this company. 2nd year in a row for this new startup. ex div 9/27. Look at the Revenue and Earnings charts. Analyst give a conservative price target estimate of 19 before this extra payout was news.

Bought mores shares today on the dip. Strong performance and outstanding dividend yield. Frankly, I don't understand why the shares trade at under $17 (or under $15 today!).

Dec 28 ….. .37 and .20 extra dividend to be payed out. Been reading there board notes and they put in a buyback policy. There has been considerable talk about buying back shares at this low price. Do you think that it is better for COMPANY to buy company shares back before year end or after. ???

Okay so the analysts are recommending Buy and Strong Buy, but why? CGBD seems to drift up 10 cents from $9 and then drift to 10 cents below $9 during the trading cycle each day and pretty much end the day at $9. So what about this cyclic nothingness excites these analysts to promote Buy and Strong Buy views??

Bought more shares yesterday. Not sure why the share price in not worth at least $17, but OK. I will sit back and collect dividends in this low-yielding environment. Ka-Ching!

Good quarter call today... .37 divi easily covered and safe (most likely another year end special divi), good start to 2019-originations, expect buybacks to continue, plenty of dry powder for more lending activity....

When will they announce dividend increase? It was expected in June.....this is stuck at high discount to NAV and only dividend increase will break the $15 iron barrier!

CGBD got hit due to a couple of non-performing investment that impacted NII last quarter. Carlyle Group has recently replaced the CEO and CFO and has pledged to use all of its resources to ensure success. They also said they have "spillover Income" which will likely mean a special dividend this quarter. I think this is a great bet in the BDC area. Carlyle Group is one of the biggest and most prestigious names in private equity. They are committed to the CGBD so I am happy to join in.
