CIM has earned its premium valuation. Q1 was a bad quarter? Only takes a few years to make your entire investment back in dividends.
Jim, did you say 16.86 coming soon? I would not be holding my breath.
Not much talk about this great stock.
I limit ordered Wed. at $17.75. I think I caught the bottom of this small decline. Love the Dividend.
In order to hit analysts expectations, there needs to be about a 30%+ correction in the current real estate market. This is how this business works and why it won't go out of business. They approach people to invest in their LLC's to buy run down apartment complexes in run down areas, that are about to get a facelift by the city. (ie. a New Kaiser Permanente and Metro Rail line in Baldwin Park, CA) Then they rennovate or bulldoze and build new Condo's in the area. As soon as the Buildings are complete and the first few sales come in, The investors get a 25% turn around on their investment, when all Condo's have sold, then the Investors get their initial investment funds back with an additional 25%. They do this all over the country. Its how Donald Trump has over 500 LLC's, same loop holes in purchasing multiple properties to be able to turn a profit faster. However, with property values increasing so much, it takes longer to raise enough capitol to start their projects, which means that their estimates will keep getting missed. This is why I said they need a 30% correction int he market.
Not a bad time to add more shares. A miss on analyst projections of .08 doesn't justify this selloff put the past years run up may ! I just bought more and like the future with CIM
This has been my best performer to date - cant beat the div!
Considering the magnitude of this sell-off, unless you have already sold higher for a profit, CIM is now nearing a BUY. Do not be a lemming and succumb to market sales forces ..... simply begin to buy in stages. The fundamentals of CIM's portfolio and management's strategy is still sound. Buy MORE if it dips further
Why are mREITs getting completely destroyed today?
Real Estate Investment should do well going forward. Not sure why people are selling.
During the last year, CIM rose 40%. I am not sure why but maybe because earnings were increasing. Since May 1, popular mortgaga REITs like NLY and AGNC have fallen but CIM has fallen more than the rest. Anyone understand why? Some possible explanations: earnings growth flattening; insurance companies raising funds to payout losses; CIM became overbought, paying less than 10%; reaction to earnings call.
Have owned CiM for about a year; got out in Jan and made a nice profit but then asked myself "what now" ! Where can I earn 10% and feel secure ? Got back in the following day and am at a profit even at this low level. Fully expect big gains a year from now and a larger div (and a special). Won't make the mistake of exiting anytime soon.
Sadly, CIM has declined from a high or $20.90 to days $18.85 in the past few weeks. The is an intire years worth of interest payments of $2/share. The decline represents nearly $400 million in lost market value. The management is reaching for deals at the expense of the shareholders.
I don't know why people are upset with 1st Qtr results; think about it, if you increased your net interest by $ 123 M (3% + of $ 4.1B) you'll increase EPS by possibly $ .65 (depending on additional service costs) !!!
i own a considerable amout of CIM will not sell. I am enjoying the big dividents. hang in there, you wont regret it
Well, this sucks. Not a good screen shot to wake up too. LOL Still the dividend is sound, so I am not going anywhere.
