Went to 2 Costco this weekend out here in west Phoenix area. Both were zoos. People buying anything and everything TVs mac computers etc every register open and at least 10 deep. I had to park across the street at one. If there is a recession I guess people are saying forget about it. I am going out on top.

Inflation means people shop for deals. Costco offers some of the best product values a consumer can find. Cars consistently in Costco lots are there for good reasons.

First day on the job at Costco yesterday. $400.00, $500.00, $600.00 a cart. One right after another. A Thursday afternoon with lines at the checkout. Working the Front End. Got my workout. Mind blowing the business this company generates.

The reason investors compare Walmart to Costco is because Walmart also owns Sam's. Sam's is just like Costco except it is less efficiently run - at least in Mobile Alabama. So you really are not comparing apples to pears.

correct me if I am wrong but didn't this happen last time??? Walmart has bad news so COST got hammered down to low 420's...then once the dust settled and people realize Costco is now Walmart the stock rebounded back to where it is now (or was ) 528....So what is different this time???? My guess nothing and once again this will be a good chance to pick up shares of COST...IMHO....GL ALL

Most analysts compare Costco to Walmart and Target. While they are in the discount retail business their business models are different. Costco does not have customers, it has members. Their business models are different. Costco’s Goal is to serve its members. It sells memberships and make money from it. The prices on the merchandise are low to attract more members, which in turn pay the membership fees. The profit margins on sales are designed to be low so the savings could be pass along to the members. That is why Costco has such a large loyal membership base. There is room for Costco to grow. Every new store, increase the memberships. This has been a proven formula for sustainable growth. Walmart has already built the stores. Maybe too many Walmart stores. There is news that Walmart are closing some of the stores. Focus on the numbers that matters. Just look at the Stock Price Chart. As long as Costco is running smoothly per plan, it is a safe bet that the stock prices will go up. P/E ratio does not mean anything as Costco is in a class of its own.
I did a quick Google Search and Costco is opening 28 stores this year. This is where the growth is coming from. More Stores, more membership fee paying members. Those who long on Costco enjoy special dividends from Costco from time to time. That means Costco is cash rich. Where does the cash come from? From the profits of course. Personally, I have been a Costco Member for 28 years. I don’t mind the membership fees. Evert year I get cash coupons from Costco and Citibank. Either one could pay for the membership fee.
When Costco takes a sizable dip, I get excited. I am not worry about protecting my gains on the stock. I am checking if I have enough cash on hand to add more shares.
Costco is a stock I only focus on the fundamentals. I know what Costco does and as long as Costco is opening more stores, I am good. Good Luck to All the Longs.

There is still [nothing] standing in the way of COSTCO resuming her climb through the $500s and higher.
