This is a "world class" investment... best of show among energy plays.
JMHO. Disclosure: long term investor, never short, my largest holding in my portfolio, followed by Apple and Berkshire-Hathaway.
Trump's natural gas vision may prove impervious to Harvey
The country's leading exporter of the gaseous fossil fuel on the Gulf Coast was able to continue business as normal during the storm.
If we are to go off the RSI then you could argue that a pull back next day or so could occur on CQP before rallying up. google awe-some*sto-cks - they offer pretty good trade alerrts. you dont have to trade their tickers but it definetly helps you recognize possible patterns for stocks you're trading.
Cheniere sustained no significant damage resulting from Hurricane Harvey. There was no significant damage to the construction site in Corpus Christi, either. Bth Cheniere facilities are designed to sustain 150 MPH winds and 180 MPH gusts.
The company announced making a $1 million donation to the Red Cross for Harvey relief. SWe should all do what we can to help the people of the Gulf Coast recover from this cruel storm.
I think CQP is due for a pullback. What are your thoughts? I started receiving notifications from awesom_sto-cks the other week and so far they have presented interesting new trade ideas.
Is it time to make a move on CQP? Do you guys find it difficult to know when to buy or sell something? I prefer to get my stocks from awe-some*sto-cks.
Hurricane Harvey has already shut down 15% of nat gas production, days away from landfall, and probably 80% of Texas Gulf production will be shut down by Saturday morning. It will take 30+ days for any restart assuming that winds or flooding do not trigger plant damage that requires repairs. As gas inventory dwindles, gas prices will rise. Since CQP's contracts are largely fixed, this will not represent a huge, short term gain in S/P, but should have a very positive affect on future contracts, both for Train 6 in Cameron Parish and the new trains underway in Corpus Christie which are part of the LNG empire within Cheniere. I bought heavy into LNG yesterday, held my CQP and added 65% to my Chesapeake/CHK holdings. CHK is out of the storm track, plus like LNG stands to become a huge beneficiary of the 9 Northeast States that announced on August 23rd that they are voluntarily adopting a lower carbon footprint, more stringent than the Paris Accords, which aims to convert domestic coal-fired power generation to nat gas.
Huge opportunity for the bold investor. If nat gas returns to the $4 threshold, you will see CQP rise to $40, LNG rise to $65 and CHK rise to at least $9.
JMHO. Not a recommendation to buy.
CQP has just seen the last of the selling. Looks like a potential push higher is in store. have you guys heard of awesome_sto-cks. i started receiving their allerts and so far i am happy.
Do CQP,s earnings increase with the price of Nat gas? As I read there contracts it looks that way to me. I am thinking of buying shares and would need to know this for sure.
these guys floating 202 Million new units
Big energy traders walk back CQP S/P most every August. Energy Funds/ETFs all take a similar "hit" despite Cheniere's business plan and export orientation being entirely different that domestic home heating gas usage that only spikes in Winter months.
No worries, here. The dividend is bullet-proof; you just enhance your rate of return by buying shares at the Summer discounted price. I have been long CQP for an uninterrupted 6+ years. I trade other energy shares like CHK and COP by playing the cycles, but only added more CQP over the years.
Looks like Blackstone just amped up their involvement
Q2 earnings will open a lot of eyes and send a lot of shorts on to new fields of "opportunity" to savage. Cheniere is incredibly solid as Cameron Parish production gains speed and reliability.
Poland is sending signals to advance an LNG proposal to take out Gazprom as current contracts expire, concluding in 2022. The Baltic region is clearly up for grabs and penetratable, even as Australia and Dominion LNG production facilities approach readiness. Look for Trump to bargain support for the Paris Accords with a linkage to U.S. exported LNG to balance out trade deficits. This message came out load and clear in WH discussions with the South Koreans where DT was directly acquainted with the longterm balancing act now underway with Cheniere who Trump specifically mentioned by name.
Analysts are predicting a $38 S/P. I think that is WAY too conservative with the numbers I anticipate for Q2 and the trendline I expected in forward guidance.
Shorts covering before Earmings early next month?
Can anyone say "CASH COW" I love CQP!
There is nothing but greatness in the future of Cheniere Energy Partners and LNG growth. Those that have patiently awaited a payoff are soon to be richly rewarded.
CQP has just seen the last of the selling. Looks like a potential push higher is in store. Do you guys find it difficult to know when to buy or sell something? I prefer to get my stocks from awesome_stock_s.
