So why is verizon doing so much better than ctl is? What does verizon have that ctl does not? It is obvious that its market cap is much larger and its debt proportionally lower and that it has a lower payout ratio and dividend yield. What else does it have?

The bottom in pps for ctl came in. The dividends just came in too at full value which is excellent. Well, how tied is ctl to land lines? How much of a role does it have a provide of cellular services?

Losers think this dog will turn around. Winners bought AT&T recently at $35.50. $0.49 dividend coming in 2 weeks I bought 5000 shares.of T. With a 6% DY and a div that GROWS it's completely safe and will rise over time, esp once the Time Warner deal goes through. Only a complete idiot would even consider CTL.

Listened to the analyst transcript yesterday. They committed on several occasions to maintaining the dividend. Even with the greater number of shares, the annual dividend is 2.3b on an assumed 3.3b of free cash flow. So, even if they don't realize their synergy targets of 1b per year they can still afford it. CTL seemed to understand that the dividend is a big part of the investor rationale so they don't plan on clawing it back to support additional investments.

I think that caps the upside of the stock but it should also eventually alleviate the downward pressure and allow the stock to return to its natural level (I'm figuring in the $25-$30 range)

Y'all bagholders make me chuckle!! You think that the "news" is almighty and that this turd is going to the moon. If the "news" was as good as y'all make it sound this turd would've bounced to $25. But it didn't did it? The slight uptick is the smart money selling the little money to y'all retail D#$%$. This is nothing more than a secondary fill the gap dead cat bounce. And y'all are being suckered in. Tell you what, lets look back at my post this Friday and see what's up! SMDH at y'all fools!

Who says CTL isn't poised for potentially massive upward movement? This is so frustrating trying to find trade ideas. I've subscribed to some email newsletters which helps me with new stock ideas. awe-some*sto-cks is the one i like best.

So articles came out today indicating that the revenues and operating margins were still fairly high and that costs, both personnel and equipment/facilities, came down along with with revenues and earnings. The company has shrank some but with the lv3 and other mergers it should get by ok. To what level do folks expect the dividends to be reduced?

I might buy some for a trade at $15 but long term this dog will follow the fate of FTR and WIN. It's obvious.

Many folks, some of them quite influential, do not see ctl's transgressions as being on a par with those of WFB.
