Someone place a 28,000 dollar Jan 2022 12.50 call bet. Will need to trade above 12.90 for them to be in the money.. someone thinks this is going up

Today is the day, if this is anything like American Eagle or Designer brands Q3 earnings then we're in for a nice pop in share price.
    Bullish

    100 million stock repurchase.
Revenue miss from supply chain issues.
Financials and guidance was not even that bad.
    This is a joke!

Why is this trading at such a discount to analyst price target of $36 and the project annual eps of $1.72? Am I missing something?

Another bullish buy of 8000 dollars on January 22 12.50 call. Has to trade at 12.85 for them to be in the money

    $AEO conversation
This is very undervalued. An even larger retail clothing trade to get into now is also $CURV, plus sized women's clothing that is growing faster than AOE.

This is a weird one. I really want to dive in on this low. CFO retiring seems problematic. This thing could dive even more in the AM. Something is afoot, but the hiring is still huge. Don't get it.

Results don't look good, even ignoring the one-off charge. QoQ Net Sales fell from 333MM to 306MM, Gross profit margin fell from 45% to 40%. CFO retiring.

I wonder what this could jump to if Shorts cover before earnings. Short interest - 32% and just hit S3s 100 out of 100 squeeze risk. Any thoughts?

20%ish short interest depending on where you look. Huge potential for a squeeze with the buyback.

Even the Motley fool can't find a good reason why this is priced so cheap. Supply chain issues are temporary and will likely abate by mid 2022. The fact that torrid stayed within their guidance despite these issue is really good. This market is incredibly myopic and there are also probably momentum trades keeping this down as well (given its 60% decline over the last three months. Wait a few months and this will be back closer to the mid teens. It is an excellent buying opportunity for those who don't have a large exposure in their portfolio already.

The clothing retailer reported earnings that weren't so bad, but it mentioned one thing that really gets investors in a tizzy these days.
