California Water Service's (CWT) unit, Hawaii Water Service is set to expand its operation in Hawaii through the acquisition of Kalaeloa Water Company.
Hunt Cos. is selling Kalaeloa Water Co., the water and wastewater utility at the former Barbers Point Naval Air Station in West Oahu, to the company that operates the water systems for some of the largest resorts on Maui and the Big Island. Hawaii Water Service, a subsidiary of California Water Service Group (NYSE: CWT), said Wednesday that it will acquire the utility in Kapolei for an undisclosed amount. Hunt, which controls about 540 acres there, bought the system from the Navy in late 2017 for an undisclosed amount.
