The “buzz is back” in the market for London offices with companies willing to pay higher rents for leases than last year, according to one of the capital’s leading developers. Derwent London, a FTSE 250 office landlord, said new lettings had risen to £3.9mn, 8.2 per cent higher than the estimated rental value in December, with another £3.3mn in annual income also under offer. “London’s back, the buzz is back,” said Derwent’s chief executive Paul Williams, who added that tenants wanted space that could help them bring down carbon emissions.
