I laugh at so many of these posts. Investing is a very easy thing to do. If I can do it and make a lot of money , I mean a lot of money — then anyone can do it. The issue with so many is that
There is a rule that so May people will not live by —— THERE IS NO GET RICH QUICK SCHEMES AND THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH. If you treat this rule as law , then you will do well.

Here is what I do — whether right or wrong, but works for me.

    1. I pick no more than 25 stocks or ETF

    2. I have a large base in all of them - on an equal or near equal basis.

    3. I add to my position to each of the companies on the 15th of every month- always the 15th — always a market order because I don’t care exactly what any of these trade at.

    4. Every month - no matter what is going on in the market or the economy - I never waver

    5. I NEVER SELL - EVER

    5. My criteria is that it must be the top company in its respective arena — almost always a big large cap company - THAT I PERSONALLY KNOW WELL AMD USE THE PRODUCT MYSELF

    EXAMPLES:

    AAPL
    GOOG
    MSFT
    PAY PAL
    NFLX
    VISA
    AMAZON
    HOME DEPOT
    DOCU
    SHOP
    MASTERCARD
    LOW
    COST

There are about 20-25 big companies that are the best in their respective, field that you personally use. I have been doing this for years and have millions that have accumulated by doing the above. I never care what the market is doing or what the individual company is doing EVER.

Do the above for 5 or 10 years and you will make so much money that you won’t be able to spend it. The key is don’t ever sell. Treat it like your house. How often do you sell your house ?

I hope the above is useful

    Thx !

A little over a year ago, I researched DOCU and found it had a compelling business and market plan involving a sizable TAM with limited competition. So, I bought a few shares.

Today, I reviewed my research. And I see the TAM has grown even more, execution of the business plan appears to be going along just fine, and competition appears to exist but in pretty much in the dust. DOCU has a 70% market share. Wow!!

The question now becomes whether DOCU as a high growth stock can continue to deliver on expected value. We shall see!!!

the phenomenon of electronic signatures that came out of COVID is here to stay. We use it 100% in our practice, as do others and more will adopt this going forward. It just makes so much sense to do so. "wet signatures" are a relic of the past. I do think the stock price is volatile (obviously) and prone to some severe swings up and down. But it also is a stock with great long term growth prospects. So you can trade on the swings or simply buy/accumulate on the down days and hold.

Sold my shares when it had that big day a week or two ago because I thought that it would dip. I wanted to buy again every day this past week but kept telling myself it would dip... never did obviously... missed out on like 15% return of this! Maybe next week...

I never understood this forum, everyone here is bearish but this stock has incredible strength compared to the overall market right now.

I was an early investor in this stock but made an exit when I saw that the share price had been driven to unreasonable levels due to the pandemic. The second quarter of fiscal 2021 (July 31, 2020) was the first complete quarter after the pandemic was announced and showed the highest quarterly growth in the history of the company. When the share price exceeded 8x my original investment, I saw what was happening and made an exit. I have since switched to owning put options as I believe that the share price is totally unreasonable even after the latest earnings cycle. I’m not sure why people focus on year-over-year growth instead of quarterly growth, which is clearly slowing down to the levels seen before the pandemic. The year-over-year increase in total revenue has been climbing for the past six quarters, but this will come to an end in early September when fiscal Q2 2022 earnings are announced, and that’s assuming that quarter-over-quarter growth matches the most recent quarter, which is unlikely as the economy continues to open up.
    Q1 2019 - Total Revenue: $155.8 million
    Q2 2019 - Total Revenue: $167.0 million, QOQ: 7.2%
    Q3 2019 - Total Revenue: $178.4 million, QOQ: 6.8%
    Q4 2019 - Total Revenue: $199.7 million, QOQ: 11.9%
    Q1 2020 - Total Revenue: $214.0 million, QOQ: 7.2%, YOY: 37.4%
    Q2 2020 - Total Revenue: $235.6 million, QOQ: 10.1%, YOY: 41.1%
    Q3 2020 - Total Revenue: $249.5 million, QOQ: 5.9%, YOY: 39.9%
    Q4 2020 - Total Revenue: $274.9 million, QOQ: 10.2%, YOY: 37.7%
    Q1 2021 - Total Revenue: $297.0 million, QOQ: 8.0%, YOY: 38.8%
    Q2 2021 - Total Revenue: $342.2 million, QOQ: 15.2%, YOY: 45.2%
    Q3 2021 - Total Revenue: $382.9 million, QOQ: 11.9%, YOY: 53.5%
    Q4 2021 - Total Revenue: $430.9 million, QOQ: 12.5%, YOY: 56.7%
    Q1 2022 - Total Revenue: $469.1 million, QOQ: 8.9%, YOY: 57.9%
    *Q2 2022 - Total Revenue: $510.7 million, QOQ: 8.9%, YOY: 49.2%
    *Q3 2022 - Total Revenue: $556.0 million, QOQ: 8.9%, YOY: 45.2%

If the latest quarterly growth rate holds for the next two quarters, total revenue for fiscal 2022 will be $1,966.6 million, and this is being generous. If the current share price holds with a market capitalization of $47.4 billion, the market cap to sales ratio will be 24/1 for fiscal 2022. I don’t see how this can continue forever, unless they have some spectacular new product or a rabbit that they can pull out of a hat in the next two months. And nobody is going to buy this company at this valuation. Good luck, whichever way you are playing this investment.

Just wait until Docu reports first profit.
    i can't understand short minded investors/speculators. Take a company doubling its revenue every year. year 1: 1B, Y2: 2B, Y3: 4B, Y4: 8B, Y5: 16B,
From 1 B to 16B in 5 years. Recall speculators who were shorting Amazon 6 years ago.🙂 versus those intelligent investors who just bought $10k shares and waited 5 years. Short term grid is blind investing.

The thing about this company - if you bought their stock, just hold it. You are on to a company that is THE market leader in a change trend that is not going to go away and will only exponentially pick up speed. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. 5 years from now, this company will be huge.

I bought DOCU with a thought that this company would surely attract a buyer with a much broader objective. I don’t see any comments that entertain that aspect. Limited competition, name recognition, simplicity of use for a wide variety of legal purposes.

Tnink about it. Who might find this a good fit for their portfolio?
