Why is this dropping if this fund is comprised of high rated bonds?

I am 74 and retired. I owned DODIX until about a year ago when ZI sold @13.95. Two weeks ago I sold off my complete position in DBLTX. Why? My fear of rising interest rates, inflation and the loss of capital if I need to sell part of a position for income in retirement. DODIX just dropped the share price to 14.11 to pay for a dividend and capital gains (and maybe a two cent actual daily loss). If I were still in it I would be afraid that we might not see 14.30 again my lifetime.

I want to buy back into DODIX but not now. Not until the share price is back into the 13’s and I feel there will be a 2.8+% return without capital dividends.

I bought Vanguard Wellesley with the DODIX I sold. I am scared to death of rising rates and believe there is a bit of a hedge in this foundational fund.

Again, I look forward to returning to DODIX, but the price for me still has further to fall.

Does the fund pay a dividend annually, quarterly or what?

As of 6/19/18, looks to me like DODIX is about 5 cents down for the year including interest payments. Price at start of year $13.74. Interest of 12.6 cents on 3/26. Upcoming interest in late June will be around 12 cents. Price on 6/19/18 is 13.44. So now you have 13.44 + .126 + .12 = 13.69 on a purchase price of 13.74.

DODIX is one of the absolute best bond funds available. Another in the core-bond category is DBLTX, Doubleline Funds! If one wants a core-bond fund this is in the absolute top tier!

    WHY IS DODIX PLUMMETING???

I understand DODIX has corporate credit in their portfolio (which I believe they've been working to pull back), but am a little concerned about the recent 5% decline. Any concerns from investor peers? Stay the course? Go to cash?

Dodix lost 1% yesterday and another .7% today. Does anyone know what is going on? What part of their portfolio is blowing up???
