Description

Drax Group plc, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the generation and supply of electricity. The company operates through three segments: Power Generation, Pellet Production, and B2B Energy Supply. It produces low carbon and renewable electricity; and provides system support services to the grid from a portfolio of biomass, hydro, gas, and coal technologies. The company owns and operates Drax Power Station that produces electricity from biomass located in Selby, North Yorkshire; Cruachan Power Station, a hydro station located in Argyll and Bute, western Scotland; Daldowie Fuel Plant situated in Uddingston, Glasgow; and four combined cycle gas turbine power stations in the United Kingdom. It also manufactures and supplies compressed wood pellets for use in electricity production. The company supplies power and gas to industrial, corporate, and small businesses. Drax Group plc was incorporated in 2005 and is based in Selby, the United Kingdom.
