i entered at 94 and will buy more if it drops lower than that. coming market instability will cause flight to safety in T bills. way more upside than downside at this point

Ok, this is what I think of EDV: If you look at how it tracks, it may go up somewhat on it's own, but it generally goes the reverse of what the market is doing. So I have been using it as a hedge when the market is reaching new highs. This last 450 drop meant that I would have made about $700 on that day if I sold it then. Since it has a yield it's not hard to hold on to it should it decline while the market goes up. I think it's worth having a little money in it.

What does the future look like for this ETF with the gov printing more and more money and inflation, is that a really bad thing for this ETF? I lost a ton of money on this the past week as I have a pretty good sized holding in this ETF. I had made a ton of money in it the couple months before that and now I'm pretty much even. I'm trying decide whether or not to keep this or just let it go and not continue to see it go down in value? Any ideas? It had been doing great the past couple months before the treasury sale, it seems like it was the treasury sale last week that took this down around 6 percent or so in value.

Bought some of this at the open, when it gapped down. Just trying to park some money for a few months in a "safe" place bearing more interest than a money market at .05%. I know safe right, not if you've rode it down. Looking way oversold and at long term support. Call me a contrarian knife catcher.

How far in advance are the dividends announced here? Based on previous years, I'm presuming it'll go ex-div sometime in the next 30 days. Taking this one month at a time.

The 10Y yield has been on a tear, and 20-30Y not so far behind, but I think they're going to consolidate in the current range for awhile and so parking some cash here for the time being. One month at a time. If there is any movement out of equities into bonds, could turn into something more than safe.

In my opinion, you buy EDV when the market is up. Try to buy it when it's low.

DIV is only 2% but if you hold it you get something for your trouble. I consider it insurance for when the market has a large correction (500-2000 points down). When that happens you should see this jump and you can sell it then. Put EDV and DJI on a chart together and see how the look. That should confirm the idea I am telling you.

I bought this a while ago and I am never sure what makes this ETF go up. I bought it as a hedge against inflation.

EDV for year ending Aug 4, 2020 paper profit of $45.86 (34.8%) including dividends of $1.63 on $131.41 buy and $176.33 current share price. EDV is based on an index of extended duration zero-coupon Treasuries.

So I finally got some today at $125.99 which of course it broke thru. Long term hedge. I don't think we are going to 30y over 3% but I'm wrong often.

If you trust ETFs and you think the equity markets are going south buy some of this contrarian vehicle, the Vanguard zero coupon EDV.

If the economy holds up well buy September, I hope to buy this under $100 and possibly as low as $90. Many forecasts are 3.25 - 4% Fed rate. 4% would be ugly for EDV. 🙈 I'm very, very bearish for the next 3 months. 🤔
