#EURN posted a Q1 loss of 35 cents per share vs profit of $1.05 a year ago. This is .02 cents worse than expected. Will pay a dividend of .03 same as last quarter. This is taxed at 30% so makes the math easy, LOL. EBITDA was .15 vs. $1.56 a year ago. I have roughly equal $ value positions in FRO and EURN. I think this is a fairly accurate harbinger for FRO which reports later this month. Last year was 5/20/20.

high volumes... also in after trade..
Its very easy to calculate share value: if you use Wacb; ltnav, market price or values you find in sec filings...
you will see uderevaluation of fleet in order of >400 miljon dollar, 2$ /schare, and nav in books is 11.2...
so, see yourself... this share is strongly under-evaluated.
American stockss mostly have book values above the values token to calculate this nav...(nes asset value)
If you believe in tankers, you by them via euronav 30% discount.. it means a stock of 13.2 $ for 9 $.
Euronav will announce a loss this quarter... but it's a little bit false: they amortize fleet at 300 milion a year, but one-year-older, without inflation, value shirnks only half this value: one-year-older wacc or ltav.. its only 150 million less, so over amortisation is... 150 million + 68 million fot 2% inflation...
If they announce a estimated loss of 20 ct a share for this quarter, it means raising nav ...
So this quarter, negatif tce?? euro-nav-s-nav is raising. O, i forgot something, i oonly calculated inflation... metal price also influence basic value of vessels... so add another 30 ct a share, and..
the bareboat contracts, have high costs for debt, the paid debt will be much lower next year, and once the leases disappear and the debt to 2023... cost of debt will be extremely low... 5 ct a share...
If they don't yet buy their own shares... they probably have a better project. In fact, in this sector bigger allows some synergies, and highly endebted companies could be partners...euronav can buy any big tanker company ...

Not sure if anyone saw this or if it matters, as I am not familiar with the analyst(s) but it is nice to know from time to time that someone else out there can make the "long" case. I'd like it even if he were half right LOL.

Euronav is the only one not having a disadvantage of the blockade on the Suez route. You only can call that an advantage.

On March 15, 2021, the WSJ had a piece on oil tankers and made a few positive comments about EURNAV, buying back stock, increasing fleet etc for 2021. I figure by the time a newspaper publishes something it's already old news so this could be why the stock started making it's move up a few days ago.

Why are most shipping stocks up big today? Is it just due to oil price rising, or are shipping rates rising?

How much is the withholding tax on dividends. Are the dividends classified as Qualified or Ordinary for purposes of income reporting. The recent history of dividends appears short of the stated amount and overall payments are highly unequal in amount. Reason(s) for this are ?
