    Ex-Eaton Vance trader sentenced to 18 months in prison

    A former Eaton Vance Corp. portfolio manager is set to spend 18 months behind bars after admitting to secretly making trades that made him more than $1.5 million at the expense of the company and its clients. Kevin Amell, a Hingham resident and formerly a vice president at Boston-based Eaton Vance (EV), was sentenced in federal court in Boston on Wednesday. Amell pled guilty in April to one count of securities fraud.
