If you look at the share price and the dividends since the beginning the net gain is zero and perhaps a loss

Wow, this fund has been absolutely destroyed, down over 50% from where I first bought. I had very good success with it back during the 2008 crisis, but things were totally opposite then - stable in Asia and falling apart in the US. Now with US interest rates rising, the dollar strong, and worries about China - FAX is a big loser. Perhaps down the road things will reverse again, but right now, I just collect the dividend and try not to look at share price.

You could try OXLC,they pay 14.5% dividend on a 6.28$ CEF. They are unrated groups of loans put in to one loan and each one is worth millions.

Awful. Terrible management. And they are still charging very high fees. Need to sell and take a loss.

Added to my position today. 1. Recommended by Contrarian Outlook newsletter, 2. Pays 8.53% monthly, 3. Selling at 10% discount to NAV (like buying $100 worth of assets for $90), 4. 60% of holdings rated BBB or better, 5. Only about 13% of maturities are longer than 10 years, so they are not locked in to very much long term stuff
    Bullish

Didnt see the dividend cut coming now after FAX weathered the storm for so long. will be interesting to see what the share price does tomorrow.

Go to Morningstar, the NAV is moving up while price has steadied or come down slightly. Eventually the price will catch up to NAV which is positive depending on markets they are investing in like Australia for example.

Bought fax back in 2019 at 5.00 and it was paying .035, held on to it thru the distribution cut of .0275, its been so long can't recall exactly but theses are correct. Bought more to lower my cost. In 2021 the shares equaled my cost allowing me to sell . I got all the distributions and all my money back,. This is what you holders of fax can do to avoid losing .

I have owned fax since last year(017) but I am a new guy on your board. The reasons I bought fax at 5.10 a share were that it has paid every month for years although fax is down to just .035 distribution from the higher dividends, I like that its invested mostly in fixed investments that pay a guaranteed interest rate to the fax fund that help fax keep volatility in check. I paid 5.10 , its now 4.72 and I am down $534.00, Provided it does not go much lower, my divi at $.50.00 a month can recover in 11 months what I unrealized loss of fax. I also own ncz, ncv, awp, igd and some others. The markets are very tough to make money at the present time, and pushing cefs down hard too. I hope fax come up in price , I may buy some more since the price is at a discount. I don't argue with people and hope to hear from anyone

Yea, I know FAX keeps going down and it could be a good time to buy more. That's your decision. We have to remember that FAX doesn't--make-anything! They aren't open to employee strikes and other labor issues. In addition, they don't suffer from competition nor consumer whims therefore bankruptcy should not be a worry. Their job is to INVEST the funds that they have into the best paying debt investments, PERIOD! Is it a job that they can do better? You decide, but for now they are paying over a 10+% dividend. BTW, If rumors have any validity and Fax is in for a dividend cut, that STILL computes to a 5+% dividend! Try getting that from a bank but you better bring a gun!!!!!!

Fax doing a free fall lately. Stronger US dollar doesn’t help fax in the long run. Nor higher interest in the short run.

Why invest in any stock if you can’t take the volatility of markets specially when the stock is paying more than 9% dividend. Dude relax.

Can any of the investors in FAX comprehend the English language? The price drops when they announce news, once again, that is 30 days old.

FAX had a liquidity event today. Anybody know what happened?

Funds like this drop with the economy. Panic selling causes even lower pricing. As economy improves, the fund will be fine. Buy low, sell high.
