This is not a bad fund, I cannot say that I just wish the fund had a little better return. The concept is a good one. A fund that invests in other closed end funds. A super diversified fund of funds that pays an exceptional yield. It is on my list of my top 25 investments for retirement.

The issue is with return. Other Cohens & Steers CEFs have outperformed this fund. RQI-RFI-RNP-UTF

There are 8 Pimco bond funds with similar yields that have outperformed this one.

The yield on this fund of funds is over 9 percent while 30 year T bonds are paying 1.4%. Additionally, almost all of the funds in this fund are trading at a nice discount from NAV.

Appears to be moving up after testing support. NAV was also up yesterday.

A good time to get in for a long term hold. What you are looking for in a fund like this is a stable NAV and stock price and that nice fat 10% yield. This fund delivers. It's initial IPO($20) was apparently too high because the stock plummeted after. Was stable around $15 and then the 2008 sell off happened. Since that recovery it has been very stable for a decade trading in the $10-13 range with an average yield of around 9.9%.

Very diverse it is a fund of closed end funds, stocks and bonds. Good management. Reasonable fees. A solid buy up to book value. At present it is selling 27% below book.

The $1.04 annual distribution has remained unchanged for years! One of the absolute best core holdings in the closed end universe.

There are too many stocks in this fund. Since it is a fund made up of other funds there is no need for over 100 holdings and it waters down the performance because there are not that many good CEFs. It should be a focused fund with most of the assets invested in what the manager believes are the 25 best ideas. The fund families should be obviously known. Other C&S funds like UTF, RQI and RFI. The 2 Royce funds RVT and RMT. 5-6 high yielding PIMCO bond funds as well as some Muni funds for stability. All the Tekla funds are excellent. There are 5-6 Blackrock funds that are excellent. The Columbia tech fund STK.

Obviously you focus more on the best fund families and the sectors(Tech and Health) that will out perform the market.

25% Total stock market etf like IWV.
3% each in your 25 best CEF ideas.

That would give you diversification and a better return.
