Shares of Forterra Inc. soared 18% in morning trading Thursday, after Goldman Sachs swung to bullish from bearish on the water and drainage pipe and products maker, citing accelerating pricing and management turnover. The rally comes after the stock shot up 11% on Wednesday, after the company reported second-quarter profit that beat expectations, and affirmed its full-year outlook. Analyst Jerry Revich raised his rating to buy, after being at sell since January 2018, and nearly doubled his price target to $8.00 from $4.25. "Our negative view on the stock over the past 19 months has been driven by a challenging organic growth outlook, slower pricing compared to other parts of our construction materials coverage, and limited free cash generation," Revich wrote in a note to clients. "However, the entire senior management team has turned over and pricing is now accelerating despite declining input costs--a development that we believe is likely to drive multiple expansion if it is sustained in the coming quarters." The stock was still down 29.3% over the past 12 months, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average has gained 2.4%.
