@Eric, please don't twist wrong to right. CG is not the brand for photo taking, CG is not as high class as you think, Chinese are buying CG to protect them from the cold, they believe their ads. Chinese prefer European brands to show off. Among all famous brands sold in China, only CG doesn't allow return policy. CG is not the only Co being unfair to China, an international furniture Co had their banned drawers which caused a fatal accident in US moved to China and sold to the Chinese. A car maker was ordered to repair tens of thousands of their problem model in US, but they didn't do it in China.

No matter where you bought the cloth in China, most stores don’t have return policy, but you can exchange it.CG’s situation in China still has some point related to nationalism, and that’s the most important risk for doing business there. All we can do is wait and see that the propaganda machine will stop or not.

@Being, your guess is wrong. The customer, a Chinese woman returned her CAD$2,000 jacket in original shape. She brought home the jacket and found some ugly sewing work on it, she went back to the shop to return the jacket, but she was shocked to be told that no return policy in China.

I am not surprised of the ugly sewing work in her jacket, CG is hiring sewing machine operators almost all year round, as I know, they pay minimum only. A professional sewing machine operator could cost 150% of minimum pay. How do I know, I was in the garment industry here in Toronto for quite some time.

Any publicity is good publicity. Goose got Chinese state media's free commercial advertising for 1.3B people. It is just confirmed the unconditional return and refund policy in China. It looks bad, but it should help on the bottom line at the end of the day. The market is panicking, it is the right time to load GOOS now.

To summarize, last quarter’s earnings boosted the stock to 50 (no doubt the growth engine has been China ). New concerns which may or may not change the consumer have knocked the stock down to 37. Add in new product line with boots that seem to be selling well since many sizes are sold out and we have the potential to break 50 again. Unknown here is what does the stock do if China does materially fall short. Does anybody thing it goes down 13 bucks given upside is at least 13? Point is risk reward is tilting in favor of long vs short.

So in China, consumer rights are worth fighting for if you're the government. Human rights, on the other hand, must be fought against - and with tactics that may include death.

@Jim, regarding your post of human rights in China, let me express some logic. When you are starving & dying, what you need instantly is food, nothing else. When the super poor Chinese (after a few wars) were getting richer & richer under the management of the Chinese gov't, villagers were moved from "caves" to brand new 2 stories houses given by govt, this is only part of the gov't's plan to make their people live a better life. The Chinese in general trust and love their gov't, they don't care what human rights is.

By the way, "human rights" is a subjective term, if a country's govt can't even provide food & shelters to all their people, does that country give human rights to their people? Human rights allow people to vote in elections, it could mean its only the fight between liars.

There were total 3.76M short shares on Oct 15, 2021, an increase from Sep 30, 2021.

Good earning, and upbeat forecast, new product line (boots) online next week, a parade of analysts upgrading next few weeks.

A short squeeze is in play. Too bad, they are caught in the middle of share buybacks.

Goos still needs to buy 1+M shares to finish the buyback program.

It is interesting to see how that will play out.

    Good luck longs.

Canada Goose Men's Snow Mantra Boots sold out already. Only very few left in stores.
It seems they underestimated the demand. It might have nothing available on this Friday's launch.

Canada Goose Boots sold out in China. All major Chinese eCommerce websites sold out all inventory. They don't know when the products will be replenished. Boots are in high demand in China now.
