At current GT pricing you are buying GT at Covid levels with few businesses open. You as well are getting the entire Cooper tire company for free. Now add in 2 back-to-back earnings that exceeded expectations in spite if higher commodity prices. .

Recession proof. If you don't buy a new car you will need to put new tires on the old car.

Why do people have 20 year old tires on motor homes?

I would think that rubber has rotted.

$16 or $17 per share ,sounds right for this one, as the US soon slides into recessionary territory than is this a recession proof investment .

$120 barel oil price is not substaineble.

GT is sliding into the turn and could break the barrier this time. That means single digits are possible. If we experience stagflation with continued high oil prices that will be very bad for GT. A highly leveraged company in a highly competitive market with no control over input prices is extremely vulnerable to stagflation. Weakened consumers driving less and holding off buying new cars while oil prices soar is a nasty concoction for GT. Has anyone run numbers on BK risk under adverse scenarios? They've got a lot of junk debt.

Gosh back to late 2020 levels when I sold 5000 shares to buy other real Cash Flow income choices.
Like WES and EPD took my loss and switched to 100% income investments only. I should have sold at $8.00
when I could have done even better. Buy yourself some real Income on the current dip and just reinvest
that income and you will for sure get wealthier over time.
Two of the worst managed of my former holdings BP and GT.
Hope this might be valuable to someone.
    Regards
    John

Associated Press is reporting Goodyear 22.5” tires on RV vehicles killed (9) people and injured 68 innocent men, women and children; all with Goodyears knowledge of a major problem with these tires, all the while refusing to recall the questionable tires.

The Justice Dept is evaluating “criminal charges” against Goodyear Executives!!

$6 or $7 per share, sounds about right for this one, as the US soon slides into recessionary territory.

$120 barrel oil ain't helping one bit.

    Nope.

I was reading on Barron's how GT is positioned best to produce supply the special tires that EV need. You figure all those EV makers and then the owners need these tires that can handle the heavier vehicles! Electric cars are heavier because of the added batteries, reinforced framework and suspension, and the metal armor around the battery to protect it
