  • What should we do???

    My wife is disabled and been in the hospital many times and so we didn't send back the HP laptop in time. Before we bought the laptop we bought a HP tablet and it didn't work. We sent it right back but my wife went into the hospital about 5 times during the time we first bought the laptop and didn't send it back in time. The laptop has never worked in the last 2 1/2 years. My wife has spent countless hours on the phone with HSN, HP and the people that do the warranty work. No one seems to care. We've sent the computer in 4 times and it is now going to be sent in a 5th time. It still doesn't work. If we ever get the computer to work it will be a 3 year old computer and not worth what we paid for it. Chance are it will never work.

    Please does anybody have a suggestion besides buying a new computer. We are senior citizens and spend most of our money on insurance and medications for my wife.

    Customer Service and Technical Support is nothing but a disaster. I've been on the phone several times with Century Link to set up our email. We had bought new computers. One a desk top (Lenovo) and a laptop (Lenovo). These were high end computers. The first time wasn't successful and I had to call back and got a guy that was successful getting my desk top computer hooked up to Outlook 2016. I didn't get my wife's laptop hooked up so I called back and talked with a lady in tech support and she gave me what I thought was the right info. The info didn't work. I then couldn't get into my email with my computer. My wife then called and talked to tech support and they said your modem was very old and would send us a new one. The new modem was set up and worked fine but my computer still didn't work. I then called and pushed 4 for tech support. I explained the calls and what had happened. The lady said she would transfer me to another person in tech support. I then talked to another person called Anthony and explained all the calls and what had happened and he said I'm in customer service and said he would transfer me to Tech support. I then explained the problem to a foreign sounding man and I went through all that had happened. Each time 4 in total he would ask me what the problem was and each time I would say I've explained the problem to you each time and you don't seem to listen. I'm canceling my service with Century Link. Most that work in Customer Service and Technical Support don't seem to know what they are doing.

    Little by little we go else where when it comes to many things Wal-Mart sells. The latest are prescriptions.

    Our little dog has glaucoma and uses drops.

    10 mg bottle is $76 at Wal-Mart and at Costco it is under $12

    My wife uses Cevimeline for dry mouth Costco $288. WM $746 with insurance is over $400.

    My wife uses Modafinil Costco 90days $185. WM 30 days $813

    My wife uses many other drugs with the same type of cost comparsions.

    I use a combivent inhaler In Canada $33 WM $360 cash with insurance $280

    Generic for Advair in Canada is $34 and at WM is over $300 with insurance

    There are so many other examples I could tell you about.

    It pays to make the trip to Costco which saves us several hundred dollars. Wal-Mart and others are ripping us off.

    In the sake of competition prices are being driven down But to meet the lower prices that competition demands retailers like HSN, QVC, Wal-Mart etc. keep asking for and getting lower prices. If you want shelf space, Air Time for your product you have to meet or exceed the price they demand. Consequently manufacturers are cutting corners, going to other countries to manufacture their products. The consumer gets stuck thinking they are getting a good deal but in the end have a piece of junk. We are in that position. What should we do?

    About 2 1/2 years ago my wife bought a HP tablet from HSN and sent it back the first week as it didn't work. About the same time she bought a 17" laptop. My wife has been in the ER over 30 times in the last 3 years and as a result didn't send back in the time required. She has spent countless times on the phone with the Technical department. Had them take control of her computer only have them say to send the computer in for repair. In this 2 1/2 years the computer has been sent back 4 times. The last two times they say they either repaired or replaced the hard drive. We suspect that they did nothing to the computer but just sent it back to us hoping they could get through the extended warranty time we purchased. As of today the computer has never worked. We've sent letters to HSN, made numerous phone calls to them asking for our money back. They refuse as they say they aren't responsible after the first I believe 90 days. The laptop is now outdated and even if they fix it properly we've invested countless hours on the phone, going to UPS to ship the computer back. We will NEVER buy another HP product and NEVER buy another HSN or QVC Product. We are retired and while not rich can afford to buy many products for our enjoyment etc. At this point we don't want a laptop that will be outdated and more aggravation of continued problems. HP, HSN we want our money back!
