You can add Oppenheimer to the list Sammy!

I rarely find the Yahoo news headlines interesting, but I did catch an interesting bit from the Oppenheimer Analyst Ian Zaffino. He said that one of his reasons for the "outperform" rating is that there is a potential for HTZ to double it's pre-covid earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, etc. He also re-confirms what we are all excited about regarding the future with agreements already in place with Telsa, Uber and Carvana.

    Nice stuff. Let's go!

When ad hominem attacks is all you have. SMH. Just like an incandescent light bulb....no wait....that would be giving too much credit. There have been a lot of characters come and go on this board over the past few years, some more memorable than others. This is what makes this journey even sweeter for some of us.

What I do love about democracy is that it will weed itself out. People come to this forum to seek some thought leadership and in some cases meaningful insight.

    Use your energy wisely.

    Have a great weekend longs.

As per yahoo stats 23.1 percent of the float is shorted, with all the upgrades I can see a short squeeze developing at some point!

Anyone have Fidelity and own Hertz and warrants. They are not
showing 'cost basis' or 'total gain'. Anyone else notice their account is like this.

I think there’s something in the works with TPG (Texas Pacific Group). TPG Senior Adviser Mark Fields was named interim CEO of Hertz. Something is in the cards here. TPG is scheduled to go public at some point in the near future. Among one of their buyouts was Nieman Marcus in 2008 and a $55 billion buyout of Texas energy company TXU. A buyout of Hertz maybe in the cards.

Here we go again - decent opening and then the shorts sell it off to keep it under 25. Manipulating the stock?

So 6M of todays 18.6m shares were crosses over 50K shares. If you calc the buy back started after the 21st when the pref A shares were done with, then $2bn would get you about 83M shares at an approx avg price of 24. Given the avg day vol over 90 days to be about 3.2M it should take them 26 business days or about 1.5 months to get all the shares bought back. Now days like this will shorten that time so by end of Jan, they should be done buying. If they can coordinate the end of this buy back to follow a strong earnings report and some good news without mucking it up, we should see stock price at $50 and W at $35. by end of Q1. Those are just rough estimates and not buy recommends so the slow ones in the back need not blame me for buying high to sell low but for those with some understanding and common sense, hope you agree, if not, please give me your perspective. Have a nice weekend All...

Need a lot of patience now. If any of you have read my previous posts few months back, you will see that I was predicting GM and Ford will get in to the used car business. GM just launched CarBravo and its just a matter of time until Ford follows suit. Both these companies are going to need lots of late model used cars in the inventory to be successful. Easiest way for them to load up on the inventory is to acquire a big car rental company.

I was predicting back then, when Ford hits 100 billion in market cap, they will go shopping. Today Ford briefly crossed 100 billion in valuation. I hope Hertz stays public few more years until share count goes down through buybacks and the market cap keep rising at a reasonable rate and we get a nice premium when one of the OEMs buys us out.

    Stay long and Prosper guys.

According to yahoo stats the short position on November 15/21 was 4.52 than on December 15/21 it was 25.64 million. That is a huge increase, with all the upgrades and analysts increases in earnings estimates. I could see a huge short squeeze developing out of this,

Isn’t it interesting that when the stock reaches a level around 24.80 a relatively small amount knocks it down about a half a dollar and then the pin action repeats itself?. This has been happening for several weeks now. Any thoughts?

    Keep it real
Remember you purchased this stock because you believed the new Hertz was well-positioned to thrive. That has not changed one bit. Do you expect your car to perform as well in 6 inches of mud as it does on dry pavement. I didn't think so. So lets not judge this stock as the world is still in chaos and barely running at 50%. The stock market as a whole has sucked for a while. But I have a sense the smoke will settle somewhat around March and there will be great opportunity for March break rentals and summer vacations thereafter. People are itching to get out. Your positioned to win. Continue to stay patient.

    Keep it real
Hold baby hold, This is a rare one way gamble opportunity. Remember Hertz Global brand which includes Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty ? has 12,000 locations around the world. That makes the firm larger than 10,600-location Avis and twice as big as 6,000-location Enterprise. Rental car prices have increased 30% nationally, with some tourist destinations reporting 300% increases. Meanwhile, rental car companies have delayed replacing their fleet. Avis sold 250,000 vehicles in 2020, joining Hertz and others in shrinking available inventory. Demand for rental cars may outpace supply for years to come. So don't worry about the #$%$ going on with the stock price right now. Hertz rentals cars will be sold out for the next 3 years and prices will be at a premium(Tesla rentals have been a home run by all indications) The new year has just started let the stock breathe. Let some earnings reports come out. The stock will eventually build momentum, it's not going to happen in one day. That's really disappointing when I see some hardcore longs starting to sell already.. It's a big mistake. The car rental sector is what you want to be in when this pandemic slows down and ends Good luck everybody this year is ours. Together we stay strong.

Im sure hoping for 24.00 before earnings.. Lately this snail stock isint doing too well , even with all the good numbers.. Us longs have been patient, and i personally will remain patient.. The millions of shorts are not cooperating with us.. Doesnt seem to be a volume issue anymore, so Hertz is definitely on everyones radar now.. Post Bankruptcy hidden figures are somehow strategically manipulating the numbers.. Its gonna be a long term play .. Im not sure if the Earnings report is gonna be the holy grail , but it should push it up at least 20%.. Inflation, bond yields, interest rates are actually a sign of good economic health and the country will surely adapt.. Hertz has a good Market Cap and good cash flow.. Crossing my fingers that im wrong and this will explode.. Hold Hold Hold
