Intelsat price should start bubbling up. FCC auction is in about 4 months where they will sell their C-Band frequencies to Telcos for the 5G rollout. A multi billions payout is coming. AT&T announced that they are selling Direct TV. Could this money be use to have dry powder available to buy lots of C-Band frequencies.

Intelsat owns the maximum number of satellites in the world. How can a company that owns about 70+ active satellites be considered only $500M in valuation at $4 per share? Ridiculous! Each Satellite is worth between $10m and $500m. This is a company worth $10B+ in valuation. How could the FCC think that the shareholders and bondholders would not fight back? David Tepper is on board. I can tell you who else is coming on board. Just check the following names! All major stockholders are American! They are ready to fight back. They will seek at least $25B in damages in court. Just remember that the US is no China! The US government agencies cannot rob people and companies!

Weak Institutions will now regret their decision forever. Raymond James and JP Morgan will regret forever. Intelsat employs more than 1000 American citizens. A few points for David Tepper and Appaloosa. 1. Intelsat has a long and predictable future in the Satellite Communications industry. 2. Companies such as Amazon, Facebook or SpaceX may want to use Intelsat's portion of the bands for a different business model. 3. Jeff Bezos will be interested in buying Intelsat for BlueOrigins. 4. The government business and revenue stream is not going away for the next 100 years. Please check with Raytheon, Boeing or Lockheed Martin if they want to buy Intelsat at about $20 per share. ($2B+$15B in Debt is nothing for what it offers.) 5. Invest $1M of your own money in junior lawyers who are hungry for this type of work. They will give you more than 100 issues and errors in FCC's proposal. Then, provide your findings to Intelsat's lawyers and management. 6. Describe how FCC and the US government will lose billions in the future when they will fight against various lawsuits from bondholders. We know you already understand these points. But, you are David Tepper! We respect you and we support you.

RAYMOND JAMES - Telecommunications Services/Wireless - Rick Prentiss FCC Chairman Pai Sets the Date: Confirms C-Band Order on Friday, 2/28 Agenda, Sounds Like Negotiating Toward a WIN-WIN-WIN Solution by Thursday, 2/6. FCC Commissioner noted that there is "board consensus on offering an incentive payment and accelerating the C-Band build-out," that we view as encouraging and ties back to the Wicker Thune bill that would allocate 50% of auction gross proceeds to the government, with the remainder going to the satellite operators and clearing costs. Additionally, Carr noted "if incumbents (Satellite Operators) maintain reasonable expectations about what we can do within limits of the law, then we have a really good #$%$ at a WIN-WIN-WIN, " Commissioner Michael O'Reilly noted he was "looking for something that gives more comfort to the satellite providers, so they are willing to participate" and "not something that's shoved down their throats." This underscores our belief that the FCC/WIRELESS OPERATORS/SATELLITE COMPANIES want to move forward and avoid litigation, and will quickly and diligently work toward a solution that provides the satellite operators adequate incentive payments, while also recognizing the value of a natural resource to the US gov and the need for speed to help wireless operators deploy 5G services on mid-band spectrum.

Okay did anyone hear the rumor about Verizon?
There’s now an ETF with the ticker symbol — wait for it — UFO that owns shares of companies that include Virgin Galactic, satellite radio and TV companies Dish and Sirius XM as well as Intelsat, a communications company that recently spiked on reports that Verizon might want to invest in it or even buy it.

I am long and have not sold a single share.

positive news from todays Senate meeting late in the day:
    https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/senate-commerce-committee-oks-c-band-auction-bill
“The CBA has consistently supported legislative initiatives that advance the FCC’s efforts to safely clear extremely valuable mid-band spectrum to enable 5G in the U.S.,” the CBA said in a statement. “Today’s committee vote represents a good step in that direction and we thank Senators Wicker and Thune for their vigorous engagement.
Citing the need for the U.S. to win the race to 5G, the Senate Commerce Committee today voted for legislation directing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to initiate a C-band auction, with at least 50% of proceeds going to the U.S. treasury

The spaceX/Tesla partnership would show mutual benefits and the pending cash inflow to Intelsat plus the greatly enhanced revenue streams and access to a broader market makes sense. The tremendous short in I along with info to disclaim the bk rumor along with the low earnings forecastwill be quite constructive. Exciting week ahead!

Quite obvious from the increase in web traffic these past weeks that the sooner the better for 5G. Web sites like state unemployment have been crashing. We need it to be a priority to get access to 5G anywhere in this country if this new era of remote working becomes the new norm. We need to really give incentives to these satellite companies to clear this much needed band width. Short term it may cost more but long term it’s a no brainer and critical to many companies in the U.S. Hopefully we can look back on these situations and say that they were the events that changed us into a better society. Good health to all.

I am also invested in I (2000 shares at $6.89). It seems to me that the CBA's new approach, that is to receive payment for accelerated clearing of the band, is a bit less optimal than their initial proposal of a private auction. As I understand it, bidders will be told that they must commit to paying an additional 100% of their of their winning bids to the CBA. Doesn't this mean that they will simply cut their proposed bids for the spectrum in half, and plan on remitting an equal amount to the CBA, once the auction is complete? So, I will receive money tied directly to accelerated band clearing, money which will not be able to be used to immediately pay down the $14B debt? In any case, I still think I is worth a lot more than $6/share, and the shorts are really driving the stock into the ground. I'm holding out for $12 by the end of the year!

Fieldonthewater...quick explanation: Intelsat along with some other SAT providers LORL...etc., were in line to sell $40B worth of 5g spectrum in an auction. which they were setting up the terms to conduct. Then FCC Chairman Pai, said, the American gov't would conduct the auction- basically taking over the auction and deciding how it would run and determine how much I and the other providers would receive. if the FCC runs it, the pie gets split differently and the SAT providers would receive much lower revenue then initially projected. Since then the FCC has stated the SAT providers would get compensated, without giving specifics. If you check your charts. you can see the day after the FCC made the initial announcement. I'm a newbie to the stock game...I got in at 18...I'm loving it at 7...due your DD. but I think it's a steal! Gather...

Time To Restructure: With $50.00 per share potentially coming next year from auction proceeds, it should be time to restructure the capital base of the company. The options are endless. A portion of the money can go to common shareholders as a return of capital (tax free), a preferred stock to holders of common shares, a 51% buy out of common shares for control and then restructuring for the balance, and it goes on. One thing is for sure, this kind of potential cash infusion has restructuring experts on the hunt!

The CBA concludes: “A swift C-band transition led by the C-Band Alliance will catalyse more than $500 billion in economic growth, 3 million new jobs, $275 billion in private sector investment and protect critical US national security interests. With fair and proper incentives, the C-Band Alliance and its member companies remain enthusiastically prepared and singularly well-positioned to expedite the transition of 280 MHz of C-band spectrum to 5G and protect incumbent services.”

At this price with the current fundamentals, technicals, way over sold situation, hIgh and growing fund ownership and the efforts being made to assure good value is gained for the spectrum transitioned to the 5G players. My god.....isn't this what investors want? Sure there is a little risk here but with the low earnings expectations and the PROFOUND info that has to come out in the conference call and next few weeks. This is EPIC in its opportunity.

“We’ve tried to establish for the record that the actual value of the spectrum is between $43 billion and $77 billion,” said Dianne VanBeber, vice president for investor relations at Intelsat. “We have a fiduciary duty to our stakeholders and can’t surrender the value of our rights for less than the market value.”
A spokesman for the FCC declined to comment.

For those who are worried about the earnings tomorrow. Please read a few points.

    1. Earnings or revenue miss is already priced in! This was a $20 stock only three to four months ago.
    2. Weak hands already sold Intelsat as soon as they heard BK!
    3. Raymond James and JP Morgan provided the worst possible scenario to scare investors.
    4. Any news will only be positive news. E.g. CEO says that we are negotiating with FCC - positive news. CEO says we found FCC's offer not satisfactory - positive news! CEO says we partnered with several firms - positive news! Basically, anything their CEO will say points to only one fact that Intelsat is not going under.
    5. The stock will steadily rise but once it goes above $6, it's not coming down anytime soon because new long term holders are coming into the picture.
    6. Any type of technological advancement to be discussed in the CC tomorrow will be positive news!
    7. Once they start negotiating with the FCC and pay off their debts, Intelsat is again looking to be an income-generating machine! They make gross profit every quarter but their debt payments are huge. Thus, they can't make net profit.
Many fund holders such as David Tepper are in it for a long term game. Why would these funds try to day trade?
