Jill Dando: The 20-Year Mystery — the whodunnit continues

Who would want to kill the quintessential girl next door, a sort of televisual Princess Diana? The makers of Jill Dando: The 20-Year Mystery (ITV, Thursday, 9pm) sift through the many boxes of evidence from the original investigation to see whether crucial clues were missed. Dando was so sweet she even had a crush on Cliff Richard, and we see the clip of her being pranked by him during a live broadcast, giggling as she is swept away in a waltz.

HMRC loses tax case against ‘Loose Women’ presenter

Kaye Adams, presenter of the television show Loose Women, has become the latest broadcaster to win a case against HM Revenue & Customs over her employment status. The tax authority had argued that Ms Adams — who also hosts BBC Radio Scotland’s daily morning show — was an employee of the BBC, rather than a freelancer, and that IR35 law should apply. It upheld the company’s appeal against a PAYE tax bill of about £81,000 and a further £43,000 in national insurance contributions for the presenter’s engagements with the BBC between March 2015 and March 2017.

    ITV plc -- Moody's affirms ITV's Baa3 ratings with a stable outlook

Moody's Investors Service ("Moody's") has today affirmed the Baa3 issuer rating of ITV plc (ITV or the company). Concurrently, Moody's also affirmed the Baa3 instrument rating on the senior unsecured notes issued by ITV plc. The outlook is stable. "ITV's Baa3 rating is supported by (1) the company's strong broadcasting franchise and well-established programming operations in the United Kingdom, (2) the track record of growing share of viewing (SOV) over the last three years, (3) the diversification of the business through investments into the faster-growing ITV Studios and online segments, and (4) the fairly modest Moody's adjusted leverage ratio at 1.8x as of the end of 2018 although it is expected to increase moderately in the next 12 months", says Sebastien Cieniewski, Moody's lead analyst for ITV.

OSLO/FRANKFURT (Reuters) - The much-anticipated spin-off of media group Schibsted's online classified ads business is expected to grow revenues by 15-20 percent a year in the medium to long term, shrugging off recent weakness, Schibsted said on Thursday. The Norwegian group is splitting off the division, which saw revenue growth of an average 19 percent a year between 2016 and 2018, on April 10, and will name it Adevinta. Schibsted's financial targets for the new company, announced for the first time on Thursday, were similar to the current revenue growth targets for the online classified ads division.
