Our family went to our local mall in Western WA today and boys we couldn't find a spare parking. This is 11am Saturday. 20s by earning then 30s by 🎄. Mark this.

JWN has 355 net stores, 100 full-line stores, 248 racks, and 7 others. With 50% of stores down at peak COVID, they did $1.7B revenue in Q2...

Q2 covid was the height of hysteria and it was the least likely time for any income bracket to buy luxury products... and now, their competitors are almost entirely wiped out...

In 2Q 2019, they did $3.7B, a record at the time, with 400 stores open....

so at peak covid, with 50% of stores closed, they still managed to hit 46% of their record Q2 2019 revenue...

Short this stock at your own risk.

Nordstrom family owns 31% of the float.
It is by far the most efficient management in retail, ride the deep valleys and enjoy the climb to higher picks

The long-awaited short squeeze is finally underway. The theme in the market today is profit-taking ahead of the anticipated capital gains tax increase. So all the stocks with large gains - NFLX, NVDA, PYPL etc. - are the most dangerous to own here. So JWN would seem eminently safe.

I live in southern California so I can assure you that when the Nordstrom's that are connected to malls here, Nordstrom's was the only retail store open to public while the rest of the stores inside the malls were still closed. Now with the country opening up more and more Nordstrom's will bounce back in a big way. They are still very actively making moves to adjust to the current situation and to move them forward.

“We had the highest sell-through of Anniversary merchandise ever. We exited the sale with super-clean inventory,” said Nordstrom.

There is a 1 hour analysis on you tube of Nordstrom,
Good projections across the board, estimates of 1.5x by year end, 3x by dec 2021. And this is on the conservative side.
    Must watch,
    Video is 4 days old

Whoever sold it this low will regret so much in the coming days. When earning comes out, this will be 17 a pop.

    People don't understand.

Good stock like this might not go up because it is not hype enough.
Trust me, stock is also about hype.

Currently no bad news OR good news.
Which also means there is 0 hype.

But once Q3 results is out, iwe can return to at least 15 - 20 range.

    Calm before the storm.

If you're long on this stock, I want to ask what you're guys opinion of retail RIETs they look pretty beat up. Given that mall retail was up do you think the REITs are a good investment at the moment?

With the excitement around decorating the home this Christmas by > $200K households, this is going to be a significant driver this year. Glad they brought it back. My wife and her friends, all mid 30s are already planning a road trip!

My friends and I usually went to a men’s wearhouse or I really like Zara for suits; for work and weddings. Zara closing 200 stores in the US and Men’s wearhouse is bankrupt; outdated, and behind the times. Looks like JWN is my new suit spot. How can it not be? With their customer service and ability to perform alterations. Not to mention; many alteration shops have now closed and/or gone out of business. JWN for the win.

Probably one of the most underrated stocks right now. Expecting earnings to do well. Expect $15 before earnings. A good earnings report should see $17.

Let's see analysts are telling us that without stimulus coming again, retail will be slaughtered as well as our short friends. But let's review some revealing facts that we also know. One, after reaching a high of 14.7% unemployment as late as June of this year, we are already down to 7.9%, less than four months later and the numbers continue to decrease, even though the financial pundits merely point to new claims, continuing claims are falling by a million a week on average for the past month and beating expectations substantially. Two, we know that there is 12.5 trillion dollars in EXCESS savings for American consumers from April to September, likely higher now, this is huge pent up demand. Three, we know that savings accounts of people who were unemployed actually went up during the March to September time frame, almost doubling during the additional federal unemployment payments, though starting to decline now, still higher than before the Covid shutdowns. Four, there are still huge numbers of job openings, though certain sectors have definitely taken a hit to include brick and mortar retail. So at the end of the day, we can discuss if all of the mall dwellers will survive or go bankrupt the truth is, given the results of the election we should have a meteoric Christmas season. Yes, it will take time to recover and pay down debt, but the current survivors are unlikely to be going anywhere, they made it through the darkest days, things are only improving from here, regardless of what certain financial institutions are claiming. Furthermore, we do not need anymore stimulus, the economy is starting up on its own even with political games being played in predominantly liberal states.

Don’t worry about the dips or spikes. Hold long term and you’ll be rewarded. In a few weeks ago but holding strong even during the dips. Wait until earnings!
