If this goes much lower someone will take them out. I'm thinking Samsung.

No price quote on the AJA deal. And AJA based in Taiwan?? Investers wary of anything in Taiwan now. Semi folks not thinking about war, or are they?

Getting close to the average in my account with the highest average. If we start to get 5% below that I'll nibble every 5% down and if we get down like 20% from here I'll be more than doubling those buys.

Depending on premiums I may buy more leaps or buy/write closer in calls.

Ugly market continues. World wide interest rate issues. War still going on, etc.

Reductions in sales to China of semi equipment from the big players (KLAC, LRCX, AMAT) will push business to Asia based companies .......so this could be very good for KLIC.

745 Millions cash on hand for the current 2.37 billion market cap is a testimony of sexcellent profit margin, great management who can execute and innovate. Management guidance is positive with niche leadership position .

Even though they did not report the purchase price for AJA, I like the acquisition. KLIC is not standing still and continues to put their "substantial cash on the balance sheet to work". I like that. Investing in future growth. I hope all the regulatory approvals happen and the deal gets done.

Added just 1 so far to my JAN 2024 40's at 9.60 on this mornings pullback after CPI took PM from up 200 to down 500 or so in the futures.

Today was the day. BIG down day punishing good and bad stocks. I doubled my holdings of KLIC today at 3:58 pm at a price of $43.98. Have a great weekend all.

Earnings estimates: Why are earnings estimates going from $7.23 this year down to $4.63 for 2023? This is not a pharma stock that was pumped by Covid sales. Also, the analyst estimates I find all center around $50 for a target price. I don't get it. I've always been a "look at the balance sheet first" guy. They have almost $13.00 in cash, ca to c/l of 6/1 and no long term debt. What gives?

I like the acquisition that expands their business to new markets. With that being said, the press release did not contain any information on what the cost of this acquisition is. I’m sure they could pay for it with their huge cash position and cash flow BUT why no announcement on the cost????

No comments on the PR this mornign about the acquisition?

I wondered why KLIC was red(barely) on my mostly green screen.

Buying at this level should be safe enough. The balance sheet is too strong. It makes downside limited, even with declining earnings.

    Interesting day for KLIC:
    Nasdaq DOWN 1.3%
KLIC UP 1.77% (even more than AVGO)
KLIC Volume was double the 200% of the 10 avg volume and 150% of the 30 day avg volume.

That's quite strong.......not sure why except that this company is "vastly undervalued".

I like KLIC donation to the health community. It shows that it earns money and giving back with an enduring corporate culture. I would buy ethical companies with a heart.
    Bullish

Ever have one of those feelings in your bones about something?

That's how I feel about a takeover of KLIC. Isn't any major semi or tech company that wants to grow by acquisition , noticing that this $3B market cap company with great IP and in the right market sectors that has $750M on the balance sheet is out there sitting quietly in the background.

Open your eyes AMAT, Samsung, ASML, Hitachi......others

@dhsm_64......you can't use book value to estimate a take out price. Just as an FYI, AMAT's book value is $14 (stock is $105), LRCX book value is $46 (stock trading at $475). So KLIC is trading at 2X book while other semi companies are trading at 8-10X book value. Again........so undervalued.

We have brokenn through the last support level and ar at 52 weeks lows Fundamentals aside this stock is technically broken and can and most likley go lower given the current state of affairs etc. I had dec put naked way above here and got put before exp date shame on me I am now long but not panicky but this tells you something when puts are ruling the day.

Great earnings but guidance looks soft. Stock is still cheap no matter how you look at it. Frustrating where it trades now.

One more point......the new laws call for a 1% tax on companies share buy backs. This will push more companies to pay higher dividends instead of buying back more stock to avoid the 1% tax. This is good for investors that buy the stock of companies that have a lot of cash on the balance sheet and have a low payout ratio. KLIC has $746M on the balance sheet and an 8% payout ratio. The dividend will be increased "greatly".
