We found the seller! Nomura, the Japanese bank that had been working with Kaleyra early on has exited their position. Incredible. If you were wondering why this is down 50% in 30 days there you have it. Paper Hands Nomura ladies and gentlemen! As a replacement, in the last two weeks, 10 new funds and asset managers have scooped up KLR shares including Cheyne Capital in the UK, SG3 Management, and Athanor Capital.

Twilio to Acquire Zipwhip for $800+ million in cash and stock. Kaleyra’s market cap is $350 million. Zipwhip does not even do $100 million in revenue per year. Think about that. Kaleyra is set to do 300+ million after the mGage merger is still valued at less than that! The sneakiest company on the market and already a global name. Just pushing into the US.

No shares available to short. Just tried. HUGE volume today. Down again. Make that 13 red candles in the last 15 days. An unheard of drop. Presentation at Needham later on. A good friend says this name is being merged arb’d right now and there’s a lot of activity in calls that suggest someone is either setting up a hedge for their continued short or actually planning for this thing to spike at some point. Hope my information has helped a lot of you. It’s not been easy. The bears/shorts have been crushing this thing non-stop. All I can do is say congrats to them and nice trade. Good luck to all and also manage risk. Remember my posts are only for myself. I like to hold myself accountable. And yes, this investment has so far sucked for me. But I’ve been able to also lower my cost basis in a BIG way down here in the $11s.

KLR earnings - margins improved, outlook confirmed, and they weathered the Covid spike in India. There was massive Covid spike and some thought revenues would be down more and yet they managed to grow revenues 16% YoY despite two Covid outbreaks. Imagine their India volume and growth when Covid finally slows down again. It should exceed 30% at that point.

Confirmed outlook of $183 - $185 million full year outlook. Strong. They are fighting the outbreak. Also this shows the strength of the European comeback. It’s about time. No one is giving international markets a chance. Draghi in Italy is investing heavily.

They raised $325 million from institutional investors.

The mGage deal is about to close. Huge. This would mean their now almost doubling revenue and have a clear presence in the US. The meeting is on May 27.

It will cool when they have an HQ in New York City. Game changer.

There’s a SPAC trade going on and someone or a group of traders are just shorting a basket of SPACs. They clearly have no clue that a SPAC from 2019 is in a far different place than a SPAC from the 2021 mania. It’s quite hilarious actually. If you want to track it yourself, open up a chart of the SPAK ETF. The ETF tracks a basket of SPACs and they’re all down today. So KLR is just being lumped into it. However, most SPACs trade at high PS or PE multiples. KLR trades at a 2x PS ratio. Markets are not efficient and they’re very lazy. Someone will do their research shortly and realize this should be priced differently than any of the recent SPACs for example by Chamath that were able to get very high valuations. Just wait for it.

We bought a little more today. And will buy again tmw. And the next if we have to. Basically anything under $12.50 is our buy zone. So we will load up on a daily average basis at those levels for as long as it stays there.

Good luck to all! Always do your own research. I only post for my own entertain as I like to hold myself accountable. It’s not ever a buy or sell recommendation.

As of the drop this morning, this stock is down 8 STRAIGHT days and almost -20% in just those 8 days. This company grew revenues 40% last quarter. They just acquired a US company. Their PS ratio is less than 2. It competes in an industry growth 30%+ a year. Truly remarkable. I just BOUGHT the dip.

    Earnings on Monday too.

    I’m going full Ape.

Lowering 1H21 Estimates on Near-Term Issues; Maintain 2H21 and 2022 Outlook – Reiterate Buy and $42 PT

    Summary:

Ahead of 1Q21 results, likely to be reported next week, we are lowering our 1H21 estimates due to COVID-19 impact in Europe and India, and projecting a 1-month push-out on closing of the mGAGE acquisition.
Importantly, we maintain our 2H21 and 2022 estimates.
We remain bullish on tailwinds from the shift to omni-communications, opening up of economies, and new higher-margin offerings.
Compelling valuation. KLR trades at 1.4x EV to our 2022E revenue. Our $42 PT is based on 4x our 2022E revenue and is supported by our 10-year DCF analysis.

Mario Draghi of Italy, and where Kaleyra is based, is planning a huge tech investment plan. This quote is from Bloomberg: “Planned investments range from about 6 billion euros for ultra-fast telecoms networks, to 750 million euros for high-tech industrial projects including semiconductor production, to targeting coverage of all energy demand from e-cars by building more than 3.4 million charging stations. Reforms also include the creation of a new “simplification” department.”

Amazing. Now down 39% since March 1st. That’s a 39% down move in about 1 month of trading. Be patient. Dips can be gifts. Wait for it... wait for it... let it go a little lower. Earnings in one week as well.

I think you're missing the bigger picture. Definitely not a magical growth stock, but it is a growth stock. The expectation of breakeven or even profitability for 1Q was likely misguided. Similarly, the story goes beyond 1 or 2 quarters of temporary COVID disruption in India and Italy. Which as we saw was managed fairly well. mGage changes the game for them and will put them into the black so that should alleviate earnings concerns, while also expanding opportunities for the standalone business to continue to scale. For some reason this continues to trade like a dog vs. comps; however, I think should get a re-rating post business combination. More shares will also help increase liquidity in the name going forward. Would have liked to see Blackstone retain a larger stake going forward, but it's still a very good sign. Interested to see which new shareholders are coming in via the PIPE. All that is to say that institutions are taking more note of this name which should alleviate the retail trading frenzy that this company has been subject to. I won't go as far to say this should be a $42 stock by 2Q22 (Maxim...), but it's certainly not hard to make the case for mid-$20's (including full warrant dilution).
    Bullish

The Indian company called RazorPay, a tech company for payments that does about $125 million in revenue out of India was just funded by VCs at a $3 billion valuation. India is big right now in private markets and venture capital. Over 1 billion people. Kaleyra set to do two times RazorPay revenue and valued at about $400 million. This market 😂

Fidelity’s Small Cap Strategic Fund has just recently acquired up 377,000 shares.

On a YTD basis and over the last 12 months the fund is outperforming the S&P 500, Russell 2000, and Nasdaq-100. It’s also the first major fund to add shares of KLR to their portfolio, which is exactly why this company is a hidden gem. No one is paying attention to it still! It’s now only in one fund, but perhaps this is the start of something. I will be watching closely and sharing updates here. The thesis remains simple: the Twilio of emerging markets with a US expansion coming.

The fund is managed by Barry Golden, a 20-year veteran of Fidelity, CFA, and manager from their Boston HQ.

    This should be interesting.

Missed earnings by triple. This is going to be a long road to recovery with India's covid situation. Not a magical growth stock.
