Looks like it will hit 500k shares. Doubt it was all day traders... though its possible since its movement was pretty predictable. Picked up a few shares. Thanks for the crash.

Earning day again. They beat my Q1 by a little.

    Q2 2021 (Dec-Feb) - $9.1m (missed by about $2m)
    Q3 2021 (Mar-May) - $18.5m <-- (actual ~$20mbeat by about $1.5m)
    Q4 2021 (Jun-Aug) - $21.5m <-- (actual ~$28, beat by $6.4m)
    Q1 2022 (Sep-Nov) - $29m <-- (actual $29.8m, beat by $0.8m)
    Q2 2022 (Dec-Feb) - $31m <--- (no change)
    Q3 2022 (Mar-May) - $33.5m <--- (no change)
    Q4 2022 (Jun-Aug) - $36m <--- (no change)

    Some notes:

    - Operating profit of $5.8m vs $4.2 the prior quarter. This is pretty nice actually. Without the other expenses that plops us at PE 34. Obviously there is always other expenses but this is actually pretty tame given expected growth. Restaraunts dont usually get 20% yoy and I expect to get that easily by next year due to 8-10 new units.

    - Increase in management expenses from $3.5m to $5.4m to accelerate growth. We definitely want to accelerate unit growth so this is fine with me. We are expecting 8-10 new units this year which is good but it obviously need to accelerate as we grow. For 2023 I really want to see 12-14 units if for no other reason, in anticipation of competition, which I assume will come in the next few years as they see our success. We need to establish our brand in all the states before then if possible. This should be our primary goal.

    - Rev goal between $130m to $140m in 2022. This is in line with the $130.5 I estimated at the end of last year. I assume the way inflation is going that we will probably land at the top side of that estimate if not over it. Not sure if that will help the net though. Probably not. But I am also hoping to see some "organic" same store improvements as well (outside of inflation).

Thought I’d update my earlier response after the new ER, because the +20% comps vs 2019 that Kura mentioned on the call change the equation. If Kura’s AUVs climb from $3.5M to $4.2M this quarter, then the same 4x multiple implies a 12-month price target of $69 (40 locations x $4.2M x 4 = $672M) rather than $56.

That’s before factoring in the additional growth from table-side drink orders and payments, which should should further boost AUVs and also improve operating margins.

Finally if a new white-space study supports significantly more than 290 locations, as management seems to believe it will, we could see a multiple expansion. The rationale being that Kura’s high-growth period will be significantly longer, and the the long-term opportunity for investors significantly larger.

I think the PTs in the 70s are warranted, and that favorable results from the new initiatives and white-space study could push the stock even higher next year.

Hey its earning day again! Time to speculate. Here was my last take:

    Q2 2021 (Dec-Feb) - $9.1m (missed by about $2m)
    Q3 2021 (Mar-May) - $18.5m <-- (beat by about $1.5m)
    Q4 2021 (Jun-Aug) - $21.5m <-- (revised up $0.5m)
    Q1 2022 (Sep-Nov) - $25m <-- (no change)

My estimates were conservative and analysts seem to want $25m on average. Seems like a lot to me but not out of the question. I would be extremely happy if they come in at $23m but the real important thing will be unit growth. What are they doing with the money they raised and how will that influence the unit growth.

Just hope the analysts didnt created some unreasonable expectations. Im not against the PPS going up but I would rather it was for the right reasons.

    Lets go Kura!
