TORONTO , May 19, 2020 /CNW/ - Leon's Furniture Limited ("LFL" or the "Company") (TSX: LNF), today announced that all of the nominee directors listed in the Management Information Circular dated February 26, 2020 , were elected as directors of Leon's Furniture Limited. The vote was conducted at the Company's Annual Meeting of Common Shareholders, which took place on May 14, 2020 in Toronto . In addition, Mr. Peter Eby announced, after a long and committed engagement, his intention to retire and has stepped down as a board member and Chair of the Audit Committee.

Prior to the impact of COVID-19, the Company's same store sales up to the end of February 2020 increased 5.4%. The company's focus on ecommerce, including its live chat initiative, has generated a five-fold increase to the annualized run rate in eCommerce sales subsequent to the quarter end of March 31, 2020 .
TORONTO , April 17, 2020 /CNW/ - Leon's Furniture Limited (LNF.TO) (the "Company") announces that the venue for the meeting of shareholders scheduled to occur on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 2:00 pm (the "Meeting") will be changed from Royal York , 100 Front Street West, Toronto, Ontario to the Company's home office at 45 Gordon Mackay Road, Toronto, Ontario . The Meeting will also be available for viewing online through a webcast provider. The Company will not prepare, file, or mail amended materials relating to the Meeting.
After thoughtfully considering the well-being of its employees and customers, and in response to changes in the marketplace, the Company has made the difficult strategic decision to temporarily close 72 of its 205 corporate retail locations across Canada . As a result of these closures, and in order to adjust to significant changes in overall customer traffic, the Company has also made the very difficult decision to immediately layoff approximately 3,900 valued employees on a temporary basis, representing approximately 50% of its current total workforce. As always, LFL is committed to its valued employees and will be enhancing the employment insurance benefits available to impacted employees with supplemental payments from the Company.
