With tech companies seemingly in the news daily for the way the industry tackles issues of gender diversity and representation, a new survey has released data on how female tech employees rank their companies' leadership. The survey, dubbed "Women in Tech: Top Rated CEOs & Companies," looked at over 1 million employee ratings shared on the Comparably's platform from April 2016 to April 2017. It then crunched those numbers by looking at how woman employees ranked CEOs based on compensation, team, work environment, sentiment rating and leadership.
Silicon Valley venture investors are rallying around a call for their industry to adopt a "Decency Pledge" in the wake of accusations of sexual harassment by one of them. LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, who is also a VC at Greylock Partners, posted the pledge on his professional networking site on Friday. The city of Mountain View is backing away from plans that would have allowed almost 10,000 new homes to rise in the area around Google's massive planned North Bayshore campus, according to a staff memo sent to the mayor and City Council on June 21. The latest draft of the environmental impact report for the North Bayshore area in Mountain View had set the stage for as many as 9,850 new apartments to rise in the 650-acre neighborhood near Google's planned development. The North Bayshore area is also home to LinkedIn — which itself is building a large new campus in Mountain View — as well as Intuit and Microsoft.
