LANXESS Aktiengesellschaft develops, manufactures, and markets chemical intermediates, specialty chemicals, and plastics worldwide. It operates in four segments: Advanced Intermediates, Performance Chemicals, High Performance Materials, and ARLANXEO. The Advanced Intermediates segment offers high-grade intermediates for the agrochemicals and coatings industries; fine chemicals as precursors and intermediates for pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and specialty chemicals industries; customer-specific specialties; and tire chemicals. The Performance Chemicals segment provides material protection products; inorganic pigments for the coloring of concrete, emulsion paints, and other coatings; finishing agents for the leather industry; rubber additives; reverse osmosis membrane elements and ion exchange resins for water treatment; and plastics additives, such as flame retardants and plasticizers, as well as disinfectant and hygiene solutions. The High Performance Materials segment offers high-tech plastics and high-performance composites for various applications in the automotive, electrical/electronics, construction, medicine, and sports and leisure sectors. The ARLANXEO segment provides specialty rubbers for use in high-quality rubber products in the automotive engineering, tires, and construction industries. The company was founded in 1863 and is headquartered in Cologne, Germany.
