    Why Marriott's days as the world's largest hotelier could end early next year

    Marriott International Inc.'s days as the world’s largest hotelier — by at least one measure — appear to be coming to an end. According to Bloomberg, India budget hotel giant Oyo Rooms is poised to overtake the Bethesda company in global room count in early 2020. Marriott (NASDAQ: MAR) counted more than 1.36 million guest rooms as of November, according to its most recent quarterly filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
