Someone managed to push the stock below 22.5 just before option expiration. Expect to see the price move to 25 and above over the next few weeks.

First semi-blockbuster coming on March 31st.... Kong vs. Godzilla. Reviews actually appear to be good/very good (from what I've read from the 'experts' who are writing about their early screenings). Then the list of hit movies just keeps coming this year and next. We really have never seen such a time like this... where so many potentially good movies could be filling the slate. Add in their re-opening restaurants/bars/hotels... and I like our chances of the stock doing quite well in the coming months/years.

Cinemark issued similar convertible bonds on Aug 18th. The issuing companies buy call options to cap the amount of dilution. The counterparties to this option transaction need to buy the shares in open market to write these calls. The news release makes this clear "this activity could increase (or reduce the size of any decrease in) the market price of the Company’s common stock or the Notes concurrently with, or shortly after, the pricing of the Notes."

Cinemark stock went up by 50% within a week after the initial hit because of this mechanism.

I just bought a lottery ticket in this stock. There's a risk, but there's also a possible reward linked to it.

Part of the problem with MCS is that it is a publicly traded company, but much is privately owned. Hard to get the huge swings like we're seeing with AMC

Now CNBC is clarifying it, you still have to pay Preimum for movie and the theaters have a 17 day exclusive, so not as bad as the sell off.

I sold CNK, LGF-B and NCLH since I believe that covid19 is undervalued atm. It's on the rise! Therefore I am also bearish MCS however waiting for the good selling point

We're kind of stuck in the mud here as of late. Hoping for some positive news out of CA and NY. Cinemas are still closed in large parts of both States. Once they loosen restrictions, the flood gates will open and movies will start being released. The other big elephant in the room is when does Regal open their cinemas in the US? Studios are waiting on all of this before they commit to a release schedule. Other than that, I feel good about the vaccines, infection rates, etc. All indicators and fundamentals are trending in our favor. Good luck!
