Happy to see they have reinstated a dividend! That bodes well. Good earnings out as well this a.m. Future looking good. Is it too early to get excited about what kind of numbers the Avitar sequel will do later this year?

Cinemark issued similar convertible bonds on Aug 18th. The issuing companies buy call options to cap the amount of dilution. The counterparties to this option transaction need to buy the shares in open market to write these calls. The news release makes this clear "this activity could increase (or reduce the size of any decrease in) the market price of the Company’s common stock or the Notes concurrently with, or shortly after, the pricing of the Notes."

Cinemark stock went up by 50% within a week after the initial hit because of this mechanism.

Seeking Alpha article on Marcus from Dec 17.

The Marcus Corporation: Best In Class Operator Trading At Significant Discount To Fair Value

    Summary:

Marcus is a high-quality company with pristine hotel assets and valuable theatres trading at historically low valuations.

The value of each individual segment is worth close to or more than the current enterprise value of the entire Company.

Marcus has sufficient financial resources to weather the impact of the COVID-19 downturn.

Marcus owns meaningful real estate including 62% of their theatres (56 locations), 7 iconic luxury hotels, and excess land and has a much stronger balance sheet than its peers.

Before the COVID pandemic in 2020 Marcus generated $155 million in EBITDA and $77 million in free cash in 2019.

I just bought a lottery ticket in this stock. There's a risk, but there's also a possible reward linked to it.

Now CNBC is clarifying it, you still have to pay Preimum for movie and the theaters have a 17 day exclusive, so not as bad as the sell off.

It's an example of how AT&T is adapting to the coronavirus pandemic.

Someone managed to push the stock below 22.5 just before option expiration. Expect to see the price move to 25 and above over the next few weeks.

Believe there is a good chance MCS will move above 20 given the big movies showing up in the next couple of weeks. Just bought a huge bunch of cheap Oct calls for 20 strike price.

Nice to see a decent day for MCS stock. Hopefully, Fast & Furious 9 delivers big ticket #'s this weekend. If they do, we could see the market get more excited about movie theater stocks on Monday.

I sold CNK, LGF-B and NCLH since I believe that covid19 is undervalued atm. It's on the rise! Therefore I am also bearish MCS however waiting for the good selling point

With the small float (22.26 million), high institutional ownership (85.65%), and 30+% short I believe MCS is ripe for a short squeeze along with AMC.
