Celebrity chef Marc Veyrat is suing the world renowned Michelin guide. It comes after his restaurant 'La Maison des Bois' in the French Alps lost one of his three Michelin stars in January. Veyrat says a Michelin inspector falsely accused him of using English cheddar in a soufflé instead of traditional french cheese. He told France Info in an interview that he would like to know the exact reasons behind the downgrading -adding that he had been dishonored and that the loss of the star led him into a depression. The 69 year old chef had been awarded three stars, the highest award in the Michelin guide, in 2018. The Michelen guide said in a statement in the New York Times that the chef's claims were baseless.

Makers of airless tyres such as Japan's Bridgestone Corp. hope driverless cars will herald a breakthrough for their niche technology, which is more than a decade old but underperforms standard tyres in every way except resistance to puncture. Autonomous driving - and the eventual introduction of self-driving taxis - could mean greater demand for puncture-resistant tyres as greater usage of vehicles exposes them to more flat tyres. "In the past, a car would be driven about 20% of the time and spend the other 80% in the garage," Atsushi Ueshima of Bridgestone said at the biennial Tokyo Motor Show on Thursday.
