    After job cut announcement, Mitel buys a business unit off Toshiba

    Mitel (MITL) has completed an acquisition of Toshiba’s unified communications business as it refocuses on core functions following the announcement of job cuts. Toshiba said earlier this year that they were exiting the unified communications market. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding in May, saying that Toshiba would transfer over “certain assets and support obligations, including existing inventory” to Mitel.
