McCormick & Co. Inc. was willing to pay more than its competitors to acquire the maker of Frank's RedHot sauce and French's mustard because of the opportunity to become a "one-stop shop" for spices, seasonings and condiments. Sparks-based McCormick announced late Tuesday it will acquire the food division of British consumer goods company Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc in a $4.2 billion deal, the biggest acquisition in the company's 128-year history. "The process was quite competitive," Kurzius said.
