Strange moves in pre-market. Are any news around?

Ok, thanks to Crmiller, I have found wdc earnings call transcript and briefly checked their explanation of the upcoming weakness. The weakness comes from PCs and smartphones, cloud is ok.
Certainly, MU has been affected because it also sells to PCs and smartphones. On the other hand, enterprise/cloud/datacenter seems to hold better. Perhaps, it is sufficient to qualify today’s drop as market’s overreaction, happening on weak day for equities.

WDC non-GAAP EPS was $1.78 and their guide is now .35-65$?

    That’s a 70% drop in a quarter. Sounds like a cyclical business.

Wow, we’re green. I wonder how well we would be doing if we made as much money as AMD and NVDA. Oh wait…🫤

How effective is a Zack's rating: For the last 3 weeks mol Zack's has MU rated, as they do now, as a strong sell #5, yet MU has been going up all during this time period
    Bullish

It can be noted that US payroll report this morning has caused sharp drop in US futures. Wdc bad guidance came on top of this.

From today’s DigiTimes “Micron and WD proposes to form memory coalition amid fierce competition with China and Korea”
    Start of quote
Micron, the world's third largest memory chip manufacturer, announced on August 4 to jointly propose a Memory Coalition of Excellence (MCOE) with Western Digital (WD), another US memory company.
    End of quote
It sounds ironic, looking at today’s trading.

I am staying far away from MU - It looks like it is going to drop off a cliff. I actually get way better stocks at (http://Themaxgains.tech)

I don't get it. Please explain congress passes the chip bill to encourage building of chip facilities here in the USA and MU announces a big plant in Japland. Anyway, I wonder what that guy, cramdon. has to say about that. T.he guy I watch during the Gunsmoke commercials.the bald guy, I hope they build plants in Idaho

I’m very surprised no activist investors have stepped up to the plate with Micron?

The market likes tech and dislikes oil today. A matter of taste, perhaps.

I knew we’d get hit today but it’s interesting to be down nearly as much as WDC, almost as if MU were also a nand pure play. Strong sympathy trade.

Fireside chat next week for Micron. In light of the recent negative trends, WDC being the latest, can management revise estimates to the downside?
    Opinions? Remarks?

This will break out. If $50 something was the bottom that's better than what it was in 2018 the last time we hit the bottom. Give it time it will be over $100.
