My family is invested in BP Prudhoe Bay Trust (BPT). I'm looking to find other Oil and Natural Gas Trusts.

Starting my research on MVO. Any other suggestions or recommendations of high paying Dividend Trust

    2nd Q dividend is $0.425 per unit payable April 25, 2022.
Nice. The 3rd Q should be higher.

TLDR: You Should Read the Annual Report

Trust assets on 12/31/2021 per annual report were $7.9 million or 68 cents per unit. This is ballpark amount unit holders get at termination.

Number of distributions left before 6/20/2026 termination is down to 17.

    Today's closing price was 11.84.

(11.84 - .68 )/17 = .66 = the average for the 17 remaining distributions to cover the cost of purchasing a unit today.

.66/.80 = .82 to break even with a 20% marginal tax rate. That equates to 83% yield. Current yield is 14%.

Trust termination occurs on later of 6/20/2026 or point when 11.5MMBoe has been produced. Lineal extrapolation of 12/31/2017 (8MMBoe) to 12/31/2021(10.3MMBoe) production beyond 2021 computes 11.5MMBoe threshold passage in 2024, so trust will terminate 6/20/2026. (2026 is later than 2024)

I dividend announcement for the quarter should be between October 4th and the 8th with the ex-date
being October 15th. With the price of WTI being higher for the quarter that the previous quarter I believe
the dividend should be between $.32 and $.36 per share. Pay date is October 23rd.

Has anyone noticed the very large Trust expenses ? It seems that not only is MV Partners milking this trust but the trustees are also. Annualized trust expenses are now @ $700,000 per year. That's a lot of money to run a spreadsheet.

Here is some data for future well producing assets the trust owns.
As of Dec. 31, 2012, MVO's net profits interest applied to just over 900 net, producing wells that are operated by MV Partners, LLC, a joint venture between Vess Oil Corporation and Murfin Drilling Company, Inc. Since the inception of the trust in 2007, the number of producing wells has remained nearly unchanged and total well production has exhibited a consistent annual decline of around 2.5%/year, which is better than most trusts that I have reviewed.

If your math indicates trust is going to dissolve in 2026, that's just 21 more royalty payment dates left. Today's price of $4.20 divided by 21 = 20 cents. Figure a 30% income tax rate and you'll need a 29 cent payment every quarter to just recover your investment cost.

Better get all you want this week, when the distribution announcement comes out it will start climbing and probably won't get this low again.

Bought 1250 shares of this at $5.09 on 4/22/21...........sweet, up + 99% today, and they raised the dividend 33%. IMO it will go up another 30% because oil price average for MVO 2nd quarter was $58.05 bbl. Today oil was $73.62 for WTI oil. If the 3rd quarter sales volume remains exactly the same as the second quarter, MVO will generate another $2+ million dollars for cash distribution to unit trust holders from the higher oil prices. 80% of sales revenue ends up back as dividend payouts. It should be a win win deal going forward. I expect the shares will go to $13.25 by late September.

Up 80% from my purchase in June of 2021! Oil price at $115 a barrel. Will sell when oil starts to back down.

no distributions, what is the value of a royalty trust with no yeild, declining unit price, and getting closer everyday to its termination date? Maybe they could send paper unit certificates that could be used for toilet paper.

looks okay from this point on, royalties coming in, as oil goes up the distributions will go up. I bought back in. The only other R.T. I know of that is paying out strong is SBR, but it pays out 6x this and units are 11x this price.
This is a good place to park some $.
