ATLANTA (AP) _ NCR Corp. (NCR) on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $20 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier. The Atlanta-based company said it had profit of 6 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 56 cents per share.
"The closures in Columbus will affect approximately 360 full time employees at our two Columbus area plants. 679 additional contract workers, or what we call buffer workers, may also be impacted with this decision," a spokesman said in an email to Atlanta Business Chronicle.
