This is what happens to stocks when they issue positive news, but there is not enough financial data to maintain an upward trend. People short, cry “the sky is falling” and watch people run scared and sell.

IMHO, (1) they are resuming operations, which is a positive, (2) they have a new leader with a highly credible background, which is a positive, and (3) the price of copper is steadily going up.

This isn’t going through the roof, but is an opportunity to buy currently and make some pocket change.

Thomas - I have you on mute - saw you on the way in.

Copper concentrate is sold at levels of 25.5 to 30 %. Buried in each tech report is the target concentration the plant has been designed for. In this case market has a floor of 25.5% so the plant target is 26% pg 18-8.
Sizing of material is also controlled, number of flowtation passes, pH and number of times processed to reach this value.

My comment is, while there are several ways to estimate the income, the different methods (including ASIC) give us about 100% variation in outcome. 2.7 cents/ share vs 5.4 c/share.

"Average ROEs in the mining industry range between 5% and 9%, with the best-performing companies producing ROEs closer to 15% or more" Cite:
    https://www.investopedia.com/articles/active-trading/082615/key-financial-ratios-analyze-mining-industry.asp

Post-Tax IRR is 25% as per the ppt presentations.

As for SP - that is why I opened up this thread - to find out
    1. How many things do I have wrong ?
    2. Is this stock as solid as I think it is?

It will be interesting to see if we RS (no downside) just before we show full production in Q1 - which means April or May of next year. This will only be done to attract the larger institutional investors.

This will happen before year 14 of LOM. So either upfront (next few qtrs) or when they sell and step away from the mine.

    Cheers ttc

Want to know what happens when a stock does a Reverse Split (only a matter time with NEVDF). Look at AXAS. They did a 1:20 this morning, and the stock tanked 20%.

I'm failing to see a logical reason for this to be dropping. is it election fears? I don't think it's going to affect the mine much considering it's already operational and any regulation changes would take quite a long time to go into effect if even successful. this mine is looking at increasingly higher commodity prices and no debts to weigh them down. I can't see this staying down this low for long before people realize this is an easy win for their portfolio.

    $TSLA conversation
$TSLA $NEVDF Nevada Copper’s Pumpkin Hollow copper project in Yerington, Nevada is less than 60 miles (100 km) from Tesla’s massive Gigafactory, a proximity that Gill said was a key factor in Pala’s investment.

Surrounded by onion farms and backed by the Sierra Nevada mountains, the Pumpkin Hollow mine will produce more than 100,000 tonnes of copper each year once its underground and open-pit portions fully open, which is slated to happen in phases.

“Copper is king for this electrification trend taking over the global economy,” said Matt Gili, Nevada Copper’s chief executive. “We see demand increasing steadily in the years ahead and, so far, supply is not keeping up.”

Copper!! One Biden proposal is a massive buildout of U.S. railways that aims to spark "the second great railroad revolution" by upgrading rails connecting Washington, D.C., to New York City, progressing the development of a high-speed rail project in California and building a similar coast-spanning railroad system. Natixis predicted a significant boon to steel and copper as a result. https://www.spglobal.com/marketintelligence/en/news-insights/latest-news-headlines/biden-win-could-be-net-positive-for-metals-and-mining-observers-say-60716572 $NEVDF

    IMO
Mike Ciricillo has a deep and wide background in all processes in Copper mining. Esp open pit mining.

This guy was heavily connected with Glencore core mgmt. His Congo and Peru experience is a get the job done in mines that had lots of labor, Government and security issues we do not have in Nevada. Notice he has a two year typical dwell time in any slot he has held.

GC is looking to acquire new mines - PLM is a long way off with a much lower concentration.
My guess There is about to be some serious changes in the overall tone of NEVDF.

Here is a cut and paste from Linkedin:

    At Glencore:
Head of Global Copper Assets Dates Employed Jan 2018 – Present
Head of Copper Smelting and Refining Dates Employed Jun 2016 – Dec 2017
Head of Copper Operations - Peru Dates Employed Apr 2014 – May 2016

At Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.:
President Freeport-McMoRan Africa Dates Employed May 2012 – Mar 2014 DRC
President Administration Tenke Fungurume Mining Dates Employed Apr 2011 – Apr 2012
General Manager - Miami Operations Dates Employed Jul 2009 – Mar 2011
Director - Project Development (Africa) Dates EmployedJul 2007 – Jun 2009
Tenke Fungurume Mining Greenfield Project - Expat in the Democratic Republic of Congo
General Manager - Process Optimization Dates Employed Aug 2006 – Jun 2007

@TTC, You ask why the trolling. I seriously do not have any money in the game when it come to Nevada Copper. But when I see #$%$ comments like Joel, saying that the company has "no debts to weigh them down", I think it's necessary to call them out for making such false statements. As far as Nevada Copper and Pumpkin Hollow. I'm willing to give them 6 months to prove that this operation can make a decent return to benefit the Common shareholders, which I doubt. But if I see something on the board that needs to be addressed, I'll do it.RC.

Nevada Copper The president signed.. " an Executive Order and declaring a National Emergency to expand the domestic mining industry, support mining jobs, alleviate unnecessary permitting delays, and reduce our Nation's dependence on China for critical minerals." Also, it allows the "Defense Production Act to fund mineral processing that protects our national security." THE DAY PRIOR to issuing this EO, Trump issued a presidential border crossing permit that will provide the missing link for "transportation between networks in North America to world markets."

Correct, the bottom line is the most important item.
Their financial model is based on 3.05 (as per tech report) for copper. They are on track for a 4.75 year ROI based on underground ops only.

Except for cv19 they have been on schedule and on price target for everything. If copper was under 2.60 (the bottom model) or they were behind due to bad mgmt I would be concerned.

    So why all the trolling?
    Any specifics??

And yes I have done a lot of DD on this mine including watching the early coring reports, reading the various level tech reports and status releases, 2 visits to Yerington just before they started construction and monitoring the construction and operation progress by satellite.

    Cheers ttc

There a pretty big copper shortage on the market, and even home builders are struggling to get enough wires to finishing up their builts. Why isn't this stock moving anywhere? I understand Nevada Copper wasn't mining until July, and we just entered the 4th quarter a few days ago. When will 3rd quarter reports coming out?

Fun facts on different mines that all lead to the same amount of copper produced.
    Different CAPEX and OPEX

CAPEX OPEX Refinery costs - what concentration makes it a go no go.

What are the processing costs of 30% CU (copper concentrate)
what doe the model look like?
    https://www.hindawi.com/journals/complexity/2019/8523748/

This is why you need a smelter on site and why mines below 0.5% used to be considered unprofitable.

    PLM>0.3%
    NEVDF >1.74%
    Black Butte >3%

    % copper Material Copper
PLM 0.003 32000 96 tons of copper per day
    NEVDF 0.0175 5000 87.5 tons
    Black Butte 0.029 3300 96 tons

Notice the common thread of daily output for keeping net copper in place.
Notice the OPEX will be higher for moving more material.
    Cheers ttc
Forecasting copper prices has been the objective of numerous investigations. However, there is a lack of research about the price at which mines sell copper concentrate to smelters. The market reality is more complex since smelters obtain the copper
