A year after acquiring Virgin Mega, Nike is revealing some of the early results of its experiments with augmented reality and community-building.
When Nike hosted its last Investor Day, back in 2015, business was roaring. Nike was on pace to be one of the best performers in the S&P 500 that year, and management was excited about what was in store going forward. The company projected that revenue in North America would hit $20 billion by May 2020, up from about $14 million at the time.
"We don't get a lot of physical activity here, so I felt that Marathon Kids would give us something to work towards while we get healthy and have fun at the same time," one of the participants said. SAGE Youth Residential Program, a division of Morrison Child and Family Services, is one of the organizations that received a grant this year from Nike's Community Impact Fund.
