    $NMM conversation
NMM was under 18 a few weeks ago. This is a normal consolidation. Most shipping stocks are down big today.

As long as the numbers are good tomorrow, NMM and $NMCI will pop back up by the end of the week.

The current SP is based on anticipated future revenue, which should be great considering shipping rates. If 2020 numbers are disappointing, we may see another drop before we head back up to $35 next month. I expect $50 by summer if rates remain high.
    Bullish

    NMCI board:

Just wanted to take a minute to thank all of the contributors here who have assisted in getting me more familiar with parts of the shipping world with which I was very unfamiliar. I have been in and out of portions of the Navios group for 10-15 years (NM & NNA), but never took the time to understand their MLP and container businesses.

The quality contributors here know who they are, and I want to thank you for supplying this board with pertinent information and for taking the time to answer not only mine, but so many other’s genuine questions and inquiries.

Last year I chose to invest in NMM rather than NMCI, but I read this board as part of wanting to know the business more fully - for what was gleaned here, and more importantly the manner and tone by which the exchange took place, I’m truly grateful.

Congratulations to NMCI shareholders for I understand the return (for some) has been quite remarkable - hopefully it will continue under NMM.

Thanks again, and I look forward to continuing the exchange on the NMM board.

    Much appreciated,

    EA

We look at sell-through rates of major retailers and compare them to how inventory per store is tracking. If you look at Dollar Tree [NYSE: DLTR] for the most recent quarter, same-store comp growth was 4.9% but inventory per store was down 5.1%. That’s a 1,000-basis-point spread between sales and inventory. The spread for Walmart [NYSE: WMT] was over 700. At Target [NYSE: TGT], it was almost 400. At Tractor Supply [NASDAQ: TSCO], it was a whopping 2,000 basis points. These are big numbers. It’s a critical sign.

“Six months ago, it was, ‘Oh my God, we’re stocked out of everything, we need to replenish, the supply chains are slow, we need to get these imports as soon as possible.’

“But the nuance has changed. Now, if you look at inventory dollars per store, they’re actually up year-over-year. What has changed is that sell-through rates are way faster. Inventories are flying off the shelves faster than companies can replenish them. That is why the inventory restocking cycle is still in the early innings.”

I know a number of us also watch the NMM group here on Yahoo as we should because next week that's our future. What we are seeing in Dry Bulk futures is going to make the new NMM fly faster and further!
