Dutch insurance group Aegon has hired the head of NN Group as its new chief executive in a rare case of an insurer raiding its biggest domestic rival. Lard Friese, who has led NN Group, the Netherlands’ largest listed insurance company, since 2014, will take over at Aegon in May next year. “This is a surprise move for us,” said William Hawkins, analyst at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods.

NN Group today announces that it has reached an agreement with ING Groep to terminate the warrant agreement between the two parties for a consideration of EUR 76 million. NN Group and ING Groep entered into the warrant agreement on 10 June 2014 as part of the Initial Public Offering of NN Group. HONG KONG/AMSTERDAM, Sept 5 (Reuters) - China's Anbang Insurance Group has picked JPMorgan to manage the 1.4-1.8 billion euro ($1.6-$2 billion) sale of its Dutch insurance arm Vivat, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters. The Chinese government has been considering the sale of Anbang's overseas real estate and insurance assets, which include Belgian insurer Fidea, since it took control of the troubled company in February. JPMorgan won the mandate after Anbang asked banks to pitch for a role in August, the sources said.
