NOKIA DEPLOYS 5G STANDALONE CORE NETWORK FOR TAIWAN MOBILE. Nokia today announced that it has deployed its 5G standalone core network for Taiwan Mobile Co. to enable the operator to provide the most advanced 5G applications for enterprises and businesses, and to strengthen its network services and performance. The timely deployment includes Nokia’s voice core, cloud packet core, subscriber data management, signaling, network exposure, policy controller, cloud infrastructure, and security management for radio transport. Susanna Patja, Head of Cloud & Network Services, Greater China, Nokia, said: “We are very pleased that the Nokia 5G Standalone Core network is now up and running, on schedule, for Taiwan Mobile. This provides Taiwan Mobile with exceptional capabilities in terms of machine-to-machine communication, extreme automation, and reliability that enables critical 5G uses for enterprises; and does so with the knowledge that this standalone network will continue to function seamlessly with non-standalone networks.” Nokia leads the market in core network deployments, with 25 of the top 40 communication service providers relying on its core network products. https://www.nokia.com/about-us/news/releases/2021/10/22/nokia-deploys-5g-standalone-core-network-for-taiwan-mobile/

weird, cannot blame this on Volume so far because its pretty good so far... still there is a sentiment that I have found in ERIC vs NOK.. no matter how good the news and even the numbers it continues to be beaten up.. ERIC can cheat, steal and lie (DOJ) and still just like with earnings despite the shortfall they were forgiven as the SP rebounded since its earnings.

As for NOK all that there has been news feed after news feed with more work and contracts yet we are "gifted" with a friday like today, (attempt at sarcasm) shortly in just a few days ER.

There is no question the sentiment needs to change as is why this is one of the most critical ER reports to review.

Greg M etal, I'll stick with my .14 EPS for Q3. I was spot on with my Q2 prediction, as some may remember. Greg M your view is correct, some analyst (s) will upgrade because they will have to. Many analysts are lagging indicators.

Fyi, I stated 5 or so months ago .17 EPS for Q4, and .49 for the year. I'm going to raise my Q4 to .19 and thus .51 for the year. Why, you ask? If 10 to 12% margin stated, and they hit revenue number than they got my numbers. Thus 17 PE this is an $8.50 stock. 20 PE, $10 stock. Very doable.

Will we get an analyst come out tomorrow, or after market today, and raise the PT before earnings? If you look at all the metrics, selling at roughly 1X sales, BV at 50% of stock price, GREAT Balance Sheet, future Dividend coming soon, buyback under way, leader in 5G, nice stream of Royalty Revenue, etc., just can't see how an analyst wouldn't come out with a $9 to $10 PT within next 6 to 12 months!

NOKIA PRIVATE WIRELESS: US MILITARY SPEARHEADS PRIVATE 5G FOR CALIFORNIA FIRST RESPONDERS. The US Department of Defense (DoD) is backing a new offering for first responders in California, including the California National Guard, that will allow them to instantly create a private wireless 5G network wherever and whenever they need it. Broadly, the effort reflects growing interest in the ability for government agencies, enterprises and others to build their own private 5G networks. But it also highlights the growing role that the US military may play in the development of US spectrum policy and the future of 5G networking technology. The DoD's new private 5G offering in California was developed by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU). The organization is "focused exclusively on fielding and scaling commercial technology across the US military to help solve critical problems."

According to the agency, its private 5G offering was developed last year for the California National Guard to augment or replace aging two-way voice radio networks and trunked land mobile radio (LMR). Nokia and Fenix Group will provide 3.5GHz CBRS cellular radios and associated services for the network, while Somewear Labs will provide wearable devices. Nokia's support of the DoD's plans comes as little surprise. The company's interest in the private wireless networking industry is well documented.

The DoD's new private 5G offering in California is underpinned by a long-term goal among military planners to use 5G for virtually all battlefield communications. Backed by major military contractors like Lockheed Martin, the military's JADC2 (Joint All-Domain Command and Control) concept could eventually connect "sensors with shooters across all domains, commands and services" by using 5G. Already the DoD has funneled $600 million toward 5G tests around the country. https://www.lightreading.com/security/us-military-spearheads-private-5g-for-california-first-responders/d/d-id/772967
The project has the potential to support 5G networks anywhere they're needed, 'all while outside the range of existing cellular networks,' according to the DoD.

Just to prove how important it is for Pekka not to over-promise, reputation is so critical that ERIC loses market share; is accused of lying and cheating multiple times including today's DOJ accusations; notable underperformance in significant ways; and yet respected analysts like Raymond James and many others are still touting ERIC to high heavens. Any one of those negatives would have sunk NOK. That is why Pekka, has to "Build Back Better" to coin a phrase. Once he re-builds that confidence, he too can play fast and loose; which I hope he never does. But those are the mountains NOK has to climb. Once we reach the summit, it is smooth sailing for a long time!

TO: @M, A fraudulent Press Release (i.e., Marvel [sic] and Nokia merger) regarding a publicly traded company is a crime. Although subsequently deleted, ALL of the required information was forwarded to the U.S. S.E.C. - Enforcement. Reference: Submission No. 16348-513-191-423.

You've done a great job of not only fraudulently misrepresenting Marvell Technology and Nokia, but also MT Newswires and Wedbush Securities.

The SEC receives over 20,000 complaints a year. Therefore, investigations typically take two to four years to complete.

BLOG: NOKIA FIXES MMWAVE WIRELESS ACCESS FOR FASTER INDOOR 5G. This blog explains how Nokia solved the two major problems hampering mmWave adoption: "mmWave’s increased bandwidth comes at the cost of far greater susceptibility to signal loss. Firstly, losing line-of-sight cuts down the coverage area tremendously, seriously limiting real-life deployment scenarios. Secondly, avoiding this loss of line of sight means engineers are needed for every installation, adding a significant financial barrier to adoption. These are exactly the kinds of challenges we relish at Nokia. And I’m proud to reveal that we have found solutions to them." https://www.nokia.com/blog/nokia-fixes-mmwave-wireless-access/

UNDERVALUED OR NOT? This year's net cash adjusted P/E on the guided EPS of EUR 0.32 ($0.37) is 14.2. Furthermore, if we accept that thanks to cost control, a growing market and more competitive products, Nokia's EPS will be growing in the next few years, we can also accept a P/E of 20 (or more). Such a P/E would mean a share price of $7.4 ($0.37 x 20) to which we need to add the net cash of $0.75 per share, giving a fair share price of about $8 ($7.4 + $0.75 = $8.15). So it's not unreasonable to claim Nokia is very clearly undervalued.

If you read my earlier post, well predicted that ERIC would not do well with losses and contracts that were losing money in China. I believe the overall growth of 5G will propel NOK faster with accelerated growth as the missteps by NOK were corrected and NOK management should be applauded in getting out of the China contracts years ago recognizing that they were not going to profitable.

ERICSSON ACCUSED BY US DOJ OF BREACHING DEFERRED PROSECUTION AGREEMENT. Ericsson AB said Friday that it has received correspondence from the U.S. Department of Justice stating that the company has breached its obligations under a Deferred Prosecution Agreement by failing to provide certain documents and factual information in relation to a previous corruption settlement. Ericsson said it will have the opportunity to respond to the DOJ and will continue to cooperate, but at this stage it is premature to predict the outcome of these developments. In 2019, the telecommunications-equipment company entered a deal with the DOJ that included payment of a $1.06 billion fine to settle a corruption investigation amid charges of bribery and accounting violations in China, Djibouti, Indonesia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam. https://www.marketscreener.com/quote/stock/ERICSSON-6494918/news/Ericsson-Accused-by-US-DOJ-of-Breaching-Deferred-Prosecution-Agreement-36750105/
