    2 December 2021

Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced that Japanese operator KDDI has selected Nokia’s 5G Core and Converged Charging software to support its transition to a fully automated, cloud-native 5G Core architecture.

Nokia’s cloud-native 5G Core’s near zero-touch automation capabilities help operators drive greater scale and reliability. Following the evolution of KDDI’s networks to 5G standalone core, subscribers will experience lower latency, increased bandwidth and higher capacity.

.... Not a surprise - KDDI is a long-standing customer but still nice to see all of our current customers (except Verizon) staying with Nokia and doing massive upgrades.

Still hoping verizon finds their way back to Nokia - we probably need their former Ericsson executives who sit in top management positions to get thrown out and replaced with Nokia friendly people. So I'm rooting for verizon to perform badly which help help this to happen.

I dropped all my Verizon stuff and moved over to T-Mobile. I was a loyal Verizon customer from the day they were formed.

Nokia has doubled their free cash flow in the trailing twelve months. I think that it is on the path of long term super growth phase, and ride the strong wave of 5G and 6G.

For fun only, let's conduct an opinion poll as to where the price of Nokia will end on the last trading day of 2021 (New Year's Eve.) which happens to be on Friday. I believe that it will be a shortened trading day. My wild guess is that it will close at............... $6.25 per share.

Insights from the Analyst presentation and Q&A this morning:

Of the 11 Analyst that were part of this mornings Q&A, 4 have a Buy rating (Robert Sanders, (PT EUR 6), Dominik Olszewski (PT EUR 6.20) & 1 Hold rating (Didier Scemama (PT $6.91)) since 10/27/21. Of those, Sandeep Deshpande from JP Morgan has already reiterated his Buy Rating and Price Target of EUR 6.50 per share.

Another 2 Analyst, last rated Nokia after Q2 earnings as a Buy so it's reasonable to think that they will update their ratings shortly. (Aleksander Peterc (PT EUR 6.60) & Paul Silverstein (PT $8.00))

Finally, 4 Analysts who either haven't rated Nokia in almost a year or not at all asked questions which the most notable was Simon Leopold from Raymond James. Simon rated Nokia a Hold on 7/13/21 which was pre-Q2 earnings without a Price Target. Would be good to get an update from him.

Good call and update from Pekka and Tom with the former Analyst David Mulholland now instituting a favorable direction leading Investor Relations. A lot of optimism again from both of them heading into 2022.

Nokia and Ooredoo Group sign strategic 5-year agreement, including 5G

    November 29, 2021 02:00 ET

Multi-country deal across Middle East, North Africa and South-east Asia cover multiple technologies including RAN, Core, Optics, IP and microwave

    29 November 2021

Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced that it has been selected by Ooredoo Group to bring multiple technologies and services, including 5G, to customers in Middle East, North Africa and South-east Asia as part of a multi-country, five-year deal. The deal, which builds on Nokia’s global partnership with Ooredoo, will see Nokia expand Ooredoo’s existing network, as well as introduce new 5G services. The deployment is already underway and is expected to be completed by 2026 in all these countries.

Under the deal, Nokia will deploy equipment from its latest AirScale RAN portfolio on sites across North Africa and Southeast Asia. Nokia’s AirScale radio platform features the flexibility and capability required for delivering 5G services to consumers and enterprises across different spectrum bands. The deal also includes digital deployment services supporting a faster time to market as well as technical support services.

Nokia will also provide its cloud-native Core software to give Ooredoo zero-touch automation capabilities that will drive greater scale and reliability. Supported by Nokia Cloud Packet Core, Voice Core, Registers, Policy Controller, Signaling and Cloud Platform, Ooredoo will be able to introduce network slicing to launch and grow new services spanning health, smart cities, banking, transportation, and public safety more rapidly.
Nokia’s optical solutions will ensure expansion and applications flow for Ooredoo’s state-of-the-art optical network without constraint. This provides increased network flexibility and operational automation through zero-touch transparent photonic networking.

Nokia’s microwave transport supports 5G microwave growth and new spectrum like E-band. The transport networks will enable seamless launching of new services where communities and businesses can rely on privacy, security, and near instant response times.

Nokia Helsinki & Nokia NYSE are currently a complete disconnect. Nokia Helsinki is trading 0.28 EUR from their 52 wk high of 5.38 EUR and that's really all the Nokia management team and Board of Directors really cares about. Any stock buyback would be done in Helsinki which would be near the 52 wk high as Nokia Management is clearly in no rush to complete. They are focused on their performance and today's update on the Mobile Networks BU was solid about the current & future business revenues and margins.

When Nokia finally does start to move north it will rise rapidly towards 10.00, just have to be patient. To everyone who wants to fire the CEO, wants stock buy backs, dividends, and 20.00 per share you should of thought about all that before you got on board. This company has been turned around and is doing a great job with the 5G rollout, it is hitting on all cylinders. Nokia is a steal.

Look at the Bal Sheet n CF stmts...almost 10B in cash with $5B in debt...free operating cashflow of about $800M a quarter! Couple this with 40% GM n climbing, and u have everything trending correctly. Do some research on.what Lisa Su did at the beginning of the AMD turnaround...people thought they would go bankrupt, but she focused on the Bal Sheet, paying down debt n investing in R n D n thus technology!! This is the exact path Nok is taking!! There will b a dividend starting up soon, but I.would use about $3B n buy back about 10% of the stock n reinstate a small dividend..
do that $3B over a 9 month period...u could prob fund that buyback from cashflow from operations, no.additional debt! This would send a solid message to the street n.the true gain in market capitalization could potentially b used to strategically acquire additional technology companies and thus, expedite shareholder returns!!

One good thing this year is there won't be any tax loss selling for NOK. I guess that's a positive for once.
