There does not seem to be an upside to this stock. Inflation, energy and transportation costs must be putting a hurt on this energy & freight intense company.

I think it might have hit a short term bottom. the volume has spiked at the end of trading two days now on uptick. I'm buying here hoping the worst is over. it should spike with the announcement coming shortly that sounds inevitable from the conference call

In financial theory, OI has zero value! Many ways to value a price of stocks. CAPM, FCF,...., many models are used to value. Some are growth stocks which pays in future while others are income stocks that pays now, typically dividends. For OI, it in none. OI is in a business that does not grow. Consumption of bottles is limited to how many bottled drinks we buy. It is not a growing industry. On the other hand, OI does not pay dividends. There never was a mention of paying dividends by past and current managements. Managements boast of making money and announce use of proceed to buyback stock. Unless the company start paying dividends, the stock has no future. Unless the management reveal plan to be stockholder friendly, there are two options. First, get rid of current management who were put on charge by old management. Or, dump the stock and bail out>

wHY DO I NEVER SEE A POSITIVE POSTING ON OI. THEY PURCHASED 50% OF A GLASS COMPANY IN THE CARIBEAN LATE 2018 FOR $119 M THEY PURCHASED A GLASS COMPANY IN MEXICO FOR $188 M, THEY ARE INSTALLING A NEW FURNANCE IN EUROPE FOR $60 M. i AM NOT A EXPERT BUT THIS APPEARS TO BE POSITIVE INFO.

This company has a lot going for them. A P/E of 4 and they are aggressively buying back stock. The other thing is expansion, with the war on single use plastics and whatever plastic might leach into foods, more companies are going back to iconic glass containers and this bodes well for OI. Only problem is beer sales going down, this hurts them for some glass production, but it should be offset with gains with other areas. Also their asbestos and litigation reserves continue to drop.

Nice to see two board members buy 15,000 share using their own money on August 5. This is a compelling price for a long-term hold.

The company is going to get bought out after the new year. Possible suitors include constellation. Look for this stock to get up to $18. Your welcome

Now looking at PE multiple just above 4 using the LOW end of estimates. Would like to see additional board and management insider purchases, though. C'mon Andres, how about buying 20,000 shares for the team?

I started buying in the $9.60s on 9/25 and 9/26 as an environmental play and an eventual fall of the $. The DXY and other indexes of the $ are near 28 months highs as FED has constrained the supply of $. Soon, before the end of 2019, the FED will have to end that policy as US and world GDP growth continues to grind lower.

OI could move higher 50% as still be cheap-sales/share are more now than when the stock was in the mid $30s a few years ago.

This stock has a P/E of 6 at the current share price. I think there is a lot going for it, there is the share buy back and the debt reduction. Also as the market rotates from the high flying FANG stocks OI is a good candidate for some of that money flow. Lastly they are growing sales, but the big potential to grow sales is the push back from plastic. Plastic straw bans have popped up everywhere or phase outs, but the next focus is on plastic bottles/containers. Glass is the replacement, not to mention food and drinks don't leech chemicals into them from glass. So that's a big potential growth aspect there as people and companies switch from plastic to glass.

I think 9$ is good price for long term investing. There are no any problems for the company activity

Glass for food products is in very short supply. Hopefully OI can leverage this into sales and profits.

I slept on it argued with myself and my conclusion as to why OI did not go up on the very good earnings report and it comes down to one word. Trust With the asbestos problem an unknown the numbers could not be trusted as they would have normally been.

With Russian Aluminum out of circulation, I'd expect more food and beverage to be put into glass containers. This should be a windfall for OI and increase demand for glass containers.

So if they declared BK for the asbestos problem and discontinued paying that expense for the qtr this qtr is an indication of 4 qtrs would look like am I wrong to conclude $2.50 a share x 10 PE is $25 $2.50 X 20 PE $50 stock price. Maybe thats too simplistic
