Looks like people are buying ahead of earnings. They've been so conservative with guidance, we are almost sure to blow out expectations. The question will be how willing they will be to modify guidance. They may be forced to up it some based on all the news coming out...

    - Now that Samsung is releasing their QD OLEDs in 2022, I'm hoping they can give more details about TV revenues.
    - Smartphone numbers should be huge
    - Apple is moving Ipads to OLED in 2022
    - LG is projecting 10 million TVS in 2022.

This points to strong numbers between now and then.

Good morning. So we are up $13 in less than 2 days. Does anyone have a theory as to why? Is it the run up to earnings or something specific?

I have been here since 2014 at $28.50 per share (and I never bought nearly enough) watching it and watching it, and this stock never made much sense to me in the way it behaves, although I am obviously thrilled with how well it has done. Maybe someone knows more than I do?

I asked this board this same question about a year ago and Eohippus replied that if I was around that long, I should know there is no reason for this stock to do what it does. I love the stock and I think the company essentially has a license to print money, but I do like to have an understanding as to the why of things.

    Thanks.

This has to be positive news for OLED on the AAPL earnings report...

"During the three months of its fiscal third quarter, the company said it tallied nearly $39.6 billion in iPhone sales during the three months ended June 26, up 50% from the same time a year ago."

Question: would OVJP reduce materials needed and thus reduce revenue for OLED?

Backing up the truck. These low volume drops are typically a good entry point for short term profits. This will have a $5-$6 pop by end of the week. Easy money.

LG Display and Samsung spending another 6 billion dollars on new equipment for more OLED production.

Samsung Display and LG Display will invest more than 7 trillion won in small and medium-sized organic light emitting diode (OLED) production lines in the second half of the year. This is to prepare for the increase in demand for small and medium-sized OLEDs, and attention is paid to the vitalization of downstream industries such as OLED 'materials, parts, and equipment' (minister manager).

LG's rollable OLED R TV costs $100,000 in the US
LG is done skirting around the price of its rollable OLED R TV. As noted by The Verge, the company’s US website now says you can buy the set for $100,000. Previously, not only did LG not list the price of the OLED R in the US, you had to call a sales representative to buy one. Now all that’s in between you and the company's futuristic TV is an “Add to Cart” button and about the cost of a down payment on a house in the Bay Area.

For that amount of money, you get a 65-inch 4K TV that can take on different viewing positions. In its signature “Line View” mode, only part of the OLED R is visible to display the time, weather and other bits of information. It’s also possible to lower the display to do away with letterboxing when watching a movie. Other features include support for Dolby Vision, AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. And while the panel doesn’t get as bright as LG’s latest G1 sets, it can still output gaming content at 4K and 120Hz.

What's with the after hours plunge? I suspect someone put in a market order sell and all that was there was a stink bid. Nice pickup.

Ok, still ck is discounted right now in oversold condition. Opened positions in two accounts. Get ready for a very nice pop. Might even reverse today.

I think the market is waiting for some real news. The price is reflected in the fact that they had a very good first quarter but did not raise yearly expectations. So the market assumes a flat rest of year until OLED either proves them wrong or raises guidance.

I guess having oled in any device with a display is the best advertising or support we could ask for. Kinda like holding the patent on H2O.
