from today's quarterly report: "On May 10, 2022, one final witness, whose testimony was delayed due to COVID, testified before the NAFTA Tribunal. As soon as the hearing transcripts are
finalized, final questions from the Tribunal are answered by the parties, and closing arguments are filed, the evidentiary phase of the case will be closed and the Tribunal can begin their deliberations. Odyssey cannot predict the length of these deliberations or when a ruling will be issued, but we remain confident in the merits of our case."

So a mere 6 days ago, testimony was heard from one last witness... Considering everything else that has to be completed before the Tribunal makes a decision, I don't see how we get a final outcome before September. I'd guess December. Anybody else want to hazard an estimate? Yikes!

Would be quite something if the decision comes down before the annual shareholders meeting in Tampa. That would be something to behold, whatever the decision.

Let's assume Mexico losses big, say $2 billion. At this point, I think OMEX would be ready to make a deal. I believe it would take about $400 million to clean their balance sheet, including a buyout of minority stockholders, and leave OMEX with $100 million in the bank. From here, I would want a fully permitted project, with no government interference, and a royalty payment to Mexico in lieu of income taxes. Sounds fair to me.

    (From Mauldin's SIC conference recently)...

"High fuel prices are helping drive the trend to electric vehicles, but there you run into other resource constraints. David Brocas runs Glencore’s global cobalt trading. Cobalt is a critical material in most EV batteries. He pointed out the auto industry doesn’t quite know how to operate in a commodity-scarce environment. They’re used to buying parts and materials in vast quantities to get lower prices. Cobalt doesn’t work that way. The price rises as you try to secure more supply. Another difference, though, is that the cobalt doesn’t get consumed. An old electric vehicle has the same amount of cobalt as it started with new. It can be extracted and reused. (Cathie Wood later mentioned that Tesla is running a massive effort to reuse the materials from old and used batteries.)"

What’s really keeping this stock from being at least $10, if not higher? Boggles the mind! Any thoughts???

Can anyone explain what the occasional surge in stock price is in the after hours and why it disappears by next morning?

These include (1) Don Diego, (2) another South American EEZ Phosphate concession in 100m-500m of water, (3) Cook Island seafloor nodules in 4500m depths, and (4) Papau New Guinea Lihir seamount gold."

Maybe they are setting up projects so the NAFTA cash award can be locked up on new schemes, instead of
being paid out to shareholders. That has been the history, this could be a long term executive compensation plan of the century. Let the good times roll.

This stock is and always has been nothing more than a ponzi scheme. They go from treasure hunting to some pie in the sky fantasy of mining minerals from the ocean floor and every time there is some foreign court battle which never gets resolved (or won). If you invested $1,000 at it's inception you would have today.... $1,000.
Meanwhile the purchasing power of that original $1,000 back in 1999 would be worth approximately $330 today.

VMC, Vulcan Materials, is the latest company to be subjected to capricious actions by the Mexican gov't.
Vulcan's mining permit was just revoked and the company intends to vigorously defend itself against the government's action. Sound familiar? Mexico, a lousy place to do business. Oh, but ALPO's pet project, a railway through a rainforest, somehow got approval. Nice, real nice.

    https://seekingalpha.com/amp/news/3818336-transocean-invests-in-seabed-minerals-exploration-via-ocean-minerals-stake

Transocean bought a minority stake in Ocean Minerals Limited after they were awarded an exploration license in the Cook Islands. This is the same license that Odyssey backed CIC limited was awarded except that CIC’s exploration area is almost 10x as big.
No financial details were released, but it does show that this project already has the possibility to be monetized.
