I’m annoyed with how fast people sell dropping the stock more then the value of the dividends

is it just because of people selling?
the dividend hasn't even happened yet ....

Any thoughts on the special $3/share dividend? As insanely frothy as the markets are right now, I wouldn't be surprised if momo traders chased this thinly traded stock up to $15-$20 right before the dividend payment

Book value is well over $16 per share combined. PATI has about $6 in cash. Basically no debt.

They can still be in the market to add more to the business and grow. Additionally, they dropped a client that was basically break even for the company. I look for the next Q results to be much better

Anyone know the disposition of their property in Tampa that was for sale? Was the buyer satisfied with the rezoning? Did they close the sale? Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen it mentioned since the Q2 earnings report last year.

Calm down people. We need the dividend hunters to exit the stock. Then it will rise again. Give it a week or two.

Agree, C. But check for yourself. No insider selling at this time. Only buying.

No, can't know what future holds, but there are many active truckers moving essential goods as I type. At some point, new truckers will enter the industry as other industries fold (for now). And PATI should be able to attract and hopefully retain these new truckers as their shipment types pick up going forward. Again, will be a while before energy-related companies pick up, but it will come. the oil-price was between SA and RUS cant go on indefinitely. Think long-term. Gas and oil demand will also see a rise as the pandemic gets under control, though that rosier horizon may not be evident til late this year.
Meantime, wash hands, stay in if you can, and continue to stay well so that those around you can stay well! More we all do what we can now to minimize spread, sooner we'll get a grip on it.

People selling here realize they do NOT get the dividend right? You need to be holding on 12/30 when it'll trade ex-dividend. Special dividend rule on this one because the dividend is so large.

Here is how this works. The stock was trading around $18 when the $3 dividend was announced. !8-3=15. Add in the extra 15 cents in regular dividend and that is now 14.75. From December 3rd until now, dividen hunters have run the price of the stock up. Now the price has been adusted because the stock is trading ex-dividend. So basically PATI went from 14.75 on December 3rd to 15.41 today. That is a 4.2 percent RISE. Not bad for a little over a month. Hope this helps.

PATI is dead right now, but this is a good company and a good time to buy.

I don't see PATI presence on any major trucking sites/boards. How is company working to attract/retain drivers in a time of "low unemployment"? Also, what has been, will be, impact on this domestic shipping company from coronavirus? A few public statements or industry interviews might go a long way to invigorating your stock price and company's viability.
